Actually I 've just been talking to the publishers about the book launches here in NZ and couldn't believe how reasonably priced the book is.

And I'll be at Goodwood for the launch there too so look forward to catching up.

As I posted on another thread, a local bookseller is displaying advance information of the Amon book and the price listed is just NZ$40.

Very reasonable

I was surprised when I saw the price of the forthcoming book. You can pre-order it at Amazon for a bargain price. Take a look at http://www.amazon.co...8757531-5749265

Ray,
If time , money and schedule permits, I'll be there.

BTW, I am accepting contributions.

I asked this over on the "famous Amon" thread,

Does anyone think there will be a US signing session?????

If the book had been available there would have been a signing session at Monterey.

I am really anticipating this book and it should be a great read. The cost is extremely reasonable but this is mainly due to the amount of photos. According to motorbooks.com, the book will have 16 color and 48 b&w photos. Photos are expensive and some can be ridiculously expensive. I am baffled that the John Tipler's book on Graham Hill has 40 color and 220 b&w photos and still has a retail price of $29.95. That is a real steal because a book of this type (with 260 photos and color photos) should be about a $45 book. The Hill family must have donated a large lot of photos for the book, something that I really needed for my Masten book but almost all the photos of Masten were lost in Italy when he and his wife separated.

Regarding the photos in the Tippler book. Most of them came from my archive, and were supplied to the author at a reasonable reproduction fee.I dont think Eoin has used any of my images in this title.

It has a chapter on Chris Amon.It is not available in the UK(only from Eoin). Nobody (including Eoin has seen a copy of the Amon title)

Eion Young's Amon book was published in 2003. Its title was "Forza Amon! A Biography of Chris Amon". I bought my copy for $NZ24.99 at Auckland airport in 2009 and read it en route to Heathrow.
