Second last round. This was a difficult one, just as I like: difficult to forecast the podium with accuracy, and plenty of possibilities during the race.

Those who win this kind of rounds are really meritorious in my eyes: (MAX), Bjorn, KWSN, rich42, Estwald, gerry nassar and Viss1 got 4 points and got the “prize” this time. The key for most of them was to guess a win for Michael, that was a “faith” shot for the multiple WDC as he started in a so low position. A special case was the astute gerry nassar: he don’t forecasted a Schuey’s win but was the only one putting right the first two drivers (KR and MS).

Some “disasters” as well... but about that we will speak after ;-) This round nobody new came here, it perhaps was due to my ultra late opening :( but maybe in this decisive last two round the “praetorian guard” of this game are who really are going to play: this is “play off” time!

scheivlak and Sammyed had a major slip in this late phase of the game: perhaps their chance for a top-three finish have dimmed too much after a worthy season. sek and DeathMasteR have missed this round (they have not PMed me neither with their guesses) so the same can be said. In fact Deathy is missing for two rounds: is he lost in some maze? But Suzuka can bring a last opportunity for glory ;)

Quietly, a lot of traditional wise players have progressively going upward in the table. If you look at the top positions (except the first one: I was ridiculously bad last year) you can find the usual solid performers in this humble game. Eeek! Aren’t they gerry nassar and Estwald in the top once again!

When this season ends I think I will do a “global” classification with the two seasons 2002 and 2003: not a surprise if the people at the top are more or less the same as last year (again, me and BERNIE will be far lower than it appears in this table).

I remind you that I don’t show those who missed the last three rounds, because I want to economize space and I interpret they are not directly interested in looking at the classification. Anyway I keep the calculations for them just in case they come back with more guesses.

Sadly the first place is not in doubt in the last round (honestly, I’ll like it was decided in the last round, we are here to have a good time together and laugh at every other ocurrences ;) ). But the two last virtual positions in the “podium” are undecided... and huge prizes are waiting to the winners! (ehemmm... ummmm... )

In this frame of things, our colleague Prostfan offers himself to serve as a “third person” in order to keep “secret” the guesses. I explain: those who *can* get the 2nd or 3rd final position can *optionally* send their guesses by PM to Prostfan instead to post it in the regular thread in order to keep the surprise in the last round. Specifically, from RicBol upward anyone CAN choose that way. I thanks Prostfan for his service, although I think others loyals here would do the same if I had “begged” them ;)

I will repeat it again: thanks to everyone for playing here and share a nice time. This season I have been more busy with things and probably I have not dedicated so much time, but I have enjoyed the “competition” as much as last year. People who have played this game “forever” have my gratitud. And people who have not got good scores and go on coming have my admiration: dbltop, d_view7, titrisol , etc... And also, people who come here just to have a good time without any other thought...

Well, anyway, we will meet again in Japan (ummm, I mean “for” Japan)

I want to apology to garth_b because he sent me his guess by a PM well before I opened the round, and I forgot to include it. He guessed KR - JPM - RS and, thus, he got 2 points. With it he has a total of 34 points, what brings him upward half a dozen positions approximately.

Precisely, garth_b is one of the most loyals here, so I'm sorry because of this "brain fade".

Now that I look at it, I seems I have eaten one "m" from "Jimmino" in the table :) I'll bring back that unfortunate "m"!

Viss1: Perhaps the thing to do now if you want to win one of those "highly-wanted" top three positions is guessing a "bizarre" podium... mmmm.... maybe VILLE - FIRM - VERS ?;)

It is good to be battling gerry again. Too bad it is not for the lead this year, but Schummy decided to fix his own game this year :smoking: (j/k Schummy)

I can handle losing to LB and gerry, but to lose to Bernie???

Thanks Schummy

Thanks gerry and Estwy (!?!)

I remember I said that both of you used "unfair" advantages last year using powerful computer to analyze tons of data about F1  What I don't remember is who used a Spectrum and who used a Craig Supercomputer :cat:

BERNIE... is about time someone makes a homage to "it". Always humble, always silent, "it" never missed a round, "it" never protested any silly rules Schummy introduces from time to time.

My congratulations to BERNIE, a true gentlebot, truly a fair competitor.

PS: I was not meaning Ecclestone.

I agree, he has been a fair and fierce competitor. He just goes on like a machine.
