The 2004 season of the Atlas Voting Championship starts here!
------------------------------------------
Remember to consider the whole weekend, not just the race.
------------------------------------------
Step 1 - GP takes place & voting opens
Step 2 - Everybody votes according to these rules:

* You can give a driver either three, two or one point. (Or zero, which is default.)

* You can distribute no more than eight points (but less if you want to).

* You need to vote for at least two drivers.

If I feel you are simply voting for the fav driver each time I'll put you on the blacklist for a while. (I won't be voting myself, to make it fairer) Also not arguing over somebody elses votes or again on the blacklist you go. Posts should be along the lines of:

...3 points: the driver/s you think did the best job during the weekend
...2 points: the next best ones
...1 point: the ones after that

Make it clear which Schumacher you mean, and which driver is Top Drive. Don't use the abbreviation JV, as it can mean both Jacques Villeneuve and Jos Verstappen. Also be clear about Ralf Schumacher and Ralph Firman.

Step 3- Voting will close in about a week

Step 4 - I'll add up the total number of votes. This will produce a 'race result'. Should drivers have the same voting score then I will split them by who has had the most Top Votes. If that fails then in reversed race result order.

Step 5 - The drivers will then be awarded championship points on a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 system.
---------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------
Rate the race
------------------------------------------
Please rate the race from 0-10, using the following guide.

Quality of race
This should be a reflection of how good the race was, not how much you liked the results. Please don't give it a one or two just because driver X failed to win the championship. Think about how much it had your pulse racing and you guessing at what the end result was going to be. Use the guide below to help, and think carefully. Try to compare it not just to the last few races, but all the grand prix you've ever watched. Votes of 9 and 10 should be quite rare.

10 The best race I've ever seen
9 Contender for the best race of the last few seasons
8 Contender for the best race of the season
7 Brilliant race, I was on the edge of my seat for a lot of the race
6 Better than average, more than a few on the edge the seat moments
5 An average race, nothing spectacular but worth watching
4 Below average, too few exciting moments
3 Well, there was one or two moments of interest
2 That was completely predictable
1 I struggled to watch it all the way through
0 I slept through most of it

Satisfaction with the results
Please also rate the race in terms of how satisfied you are with the results. This one
should be based on if driver X wins the championship or not! Also factors such controversy
over DQ's that sour the event should be considered.

10 All the right results, and done with style
9 All the right results, if not in the best manner
8 Mostly the right results
7 Mostly the right results with a bit of luck
6 Some of drivers/teams I liked did well
5 Neither happy nor sad with the results
4 My likes didn't quite manage to do well
3 My likes did quite badly
2 My likes did quite badly and my dislikes did good
1 All the wrong drivers/teams did very well but I'll give them credit for doing it well
0 All the wrong drivers/teams did very well and the right ones did badly

Note: people who are on the Voting Championship blacklist can still participate in Rate the race.

M Schumacher 3 (so far ahead of everyone, difficult to give him less credit)
Alonso 2 (best of the rest, a solid race and qualifying)
Massa 2 (fighting, overtaking good to see a fighting driver)
Button 1 (for hoping)

Rate The Race:
Quality 6 (except for the first three maybe a bit boring in number of incidents, it was not a bad race)
Satisfaction 9 (my favourite team on top, no major accidents, overtaking, despite new rules most people finished)

...and we're off to a great start of the season. Let's see:

3 points to Michael Schumacher. 14 seasons and 6 titles on his back, he still drives with all his will, guts, talent. Flawless weekend.

2 points For Jenson Button, showing why he is one of those who may end up at williams. Great saturday, decent sunday. The other way around: decent saturday, great sunday gaves Alonso two points, too.

1 point to Felipe Massa. Outclassed Fisi all weekend, with an oversteering car. Great show, lots of speed and driving skills.

Quality of the race: a good 7. well, after four months with no excitement, any race would be a good one. Australia, in particular, showed the beggining of a lot of potencial fights. Can't wait to Malaysia.

Satisfaction: Also 7 Too bad Massa didn't finished the race.

M Schumacher - 3-close to perfect-whole weekend.

Button - 2, race didn't work as well as the times suggested in quali, but a good effort to hang on to as many points as possible, a confident weekend and consistent weekend overall, never looked like doing anything less then the package seemed at.

Alonso - 1-good performance, trulli isn't a race driver to compare with, plus he talked about car problems or something, Alonso- he made a good gap, but I sense the need of having to vote for a fresher driver because Renault podium so early feels more fresh then another schumi win, I think it was a good performance, but not a star performance, Schumi's whole weekend was closer to perfect and star performance, I expect Alonso to deliver that star performance soon-perhaps pole and podium at Sepang.

Barrichello - 1 (good job being close, but never seemed to have extra for 1st place)

Massa-1 efficient race, not because Fisi had a bad one, I think some drivers were caught out by the cold temps and set ups, but Massa slowed flare and confidence in overtaking and agression, it was a competent performance.

Quality - 5
Satisfacton - 10

Quality- 5-start of the season, interesting race.
Satisfacton - 10 Ferrari and MS looked like deserving it each session, no safety cars, just a lousy start by JPM that mixed things up.

Rubens 2 - good first half of race before the brake problems, good quals
Alonso- 1 - good unexciting race
Montoya - 1 - some good passes, but 1-2 errors as well
Button - 1- did a commendable job all weekend

Quality - 6 (somewhat processional, but great drives from the ferraris, and some good overtaking from JPM and Massa)
