Hi Guys
I'm looking for a map of the early Circuit layout of Imola (about 1952). I have discovered that the old circuit used part of the street of the city of Imola. But I haven't been able to find a circuit map : I would be very delighted if someone will be able to help me out in this matter .
I would also very much like to know when the race circuit as we know it today was completed.
Best Regards

It's something I've raised here before with no luck. From my website "Immediately after WW2, impromptu bike races were held around the streets of Imola, straw bales marking out the route. One event took place during a severe rainstorm, after which the organisers looked for a more permanent venue.", which was kindly supplied by Jon Saltinstall who was looking for what you were. I have never seen a map, nor any clue as to where it went. Perhaps a motorbike site/forum could help?

Thanks Guys
I think that the layout on Darren's site must be what I'm looking for and it must be pre 1954, do you have a date on the cutting which appears on your site.
Both x_acto and panzani seems to agree on the post 1954 layout, so my next question is:
Is there one of you who can tell me when they closed the public road between Tosa and Rivazza for ordinary traffic
Best Regards

Nope - the map you are looking for is not that one. The early street circuit did not use the park, so it was another circuit entirely.

I know this thread is about the former Imola circuit, but I have a question about the current one. At Tosa, Piratella, Aque Minerali, and Rivazza you can see that the track could continue to public roads. The Italian Wikipedia article also says that the circuit became permanent in 1979, according to Google Translate. So, does anybody know if Imola's current circuit was used also as public roads.

No, it's still a permanent circuit.does anybody know if Imola's current circuit was used also as public roads.
It's open to the public on certain days of the year (after 18.30) but you can travel only on foot, by bike or with non-motorized vehicles.
