Thanks! My heart sank when I saw the "5PM": thought I'd just missed it! Then I read "PST" and realized it's still 90 min away.

As we say in the South, "I 'preciate it!"

It has just started, and so far is outstanding. It will be re-broadcast tonight at 9:00 PM Pacific, Midnight Eastern.

I thought the historic accuracy of the Max show was streets ahead of the James Dean show that preceeded it. Wonderful historic film footage that was actually synchronized to the talking heads and not repeated several times as is the norm on TV. A real American original, well limned. Ten more to come and another group is in the works.

It was great - and cabianca stole the show! I came in on it half way through, but just thought it was very well done. I hope they run it again. I would like to see it in its' entirety.

As Ursula points out, the Speed (Speedvision) show on Ol Yeller will run today (Thursday 8 April) at 6PM Eastern, 3PM Pacific. Some good footage of early American sports car racing. Ten more in this series to come, with a new batch in the planning stage. Nice to see something on Speed besides all-Nascar, all the time.

We should all enjoy it while we can...

It's taking a bit longer than I thought, but I still predict within another 3 years it will be all NASCAR, all the time. Of course, if someone outbids Fox for the NASCAR contract in 2006, that would seriously muck up those plans.

Murdoch would then probably close down Speed Channel altogether.

Dr, thanks for the heads up on this show. I really enjoyed watching this last night and thought that the production was very well done.

At the risk of sounding like a dummy here, who was cabianca on this broadcast?

Didn't see the programme, but I suspect you'll find it was the eminent authority Michael T Lynch

I enjoyed the program very much! What I did not like was the small clips of Max, just before the Ad breaks, being cut short.
