Hello again!

Here are the correct answers for Round 4. The number in the brackets is the percentage of players who chose the correct option.

Qualifying duels: Outcome Worth (pts)

1	BAR – Williams X (50 %) 1.50

2	Ferrari – Toyota 1 (100 %) 1.00

3	Jaguar – Sauber X (73 %) 1.23

4	Jordan – Renault 2 (98 %) 1.03

5	McLaren – Minardi X (5 %) 1.95

6	Williams – Renault 1 (35 %) 1.65

Total for qualifying: 8.40

Race duels:

7	BAR – Williams X (65 %) 1.35

8	Ferrari – Toyota 1 (98 %) 1.03

9	Jaguar – Sauber 2 (15 %) 1.85

10	Jordan – Renault 2 (95 %) 1.05

11	McLaren – Minardi 1 (60 %) 1.40

12	Williams – Renault X (70 %) 1.30

Total for race: 7.98

Overall: 16.38

Some observations: An easy(ish) round this time. Basically, only McLaren’s inability to provide Kimi with a car that can handle qualifying caught people off guard bigtime in duel 5. The other surprise was Jaguar getting their asses handed to them in the race by Uncle Peter’s blue Ferraris. The rest of the duels went pretty much as expected.

Moving on to the results. Since it was an easy round, lots of personal bests were scored and the average score was a healthy 9.25 (the highest so far). And we had the first ever perfect scores in both qualifying and race, recorded by Alapan and Moanaman, respectively. It’s probably no coincidence that those two also grab the first two positions in F1 Pools' San Marino GP, with Alapan just edging out Moanaman. The lowest step of the podium is shared by Estwald and kismet.

For reference, the popular guess X1X 21X X1X 21X would’ve been worth 10.93 points.

And off to the championship standings after round 4/18. dnbn stumbles a bit this time, figuratively and relatively speaking, but retains his lead by a rather safe margin (because the rest of us have been stumbling for 3 or so rounds instead of just one). Makarias moves one place up to P2 and a new face in top 3 is Viss1 who grabs the 3rd place ahead of Estwald. ron, Ventura, Alapan, AD, Schuting Star and kismet complete the impressively close top 10.

Congratulations to our new race winner Alapan and the provisional champ dnbn!

I’ll be back with a new thread for round 5 guesses at some point. In the meantime, polish your crystal balls to ensure a perfect 12-correct score.

Ciao!

Yipeee - I knew that banking on a McLaren blowing an engine is a safe bet :)

Congrats to dnbn on keeping his pole position and moanaman for getting the perfect race result.
