And now that I’ve almost exhausted what little I remember from my Spanish lessons (to the embarrassment of my teachers, I’m sure ), it’s time to introduce the round 5 duels of F1 Pools, to be contested under the hopefully friendly Catalunyan sun.
In an attempt to pick duels that don’t have blatantly obvious outcomes, I’ve based the picks pretty much on the current constructors’ championship standings and added some midfield fun in the form of a Toyota – Jaguar showdown. Also, because the good ol’ Jordan - Minardi evergreen has become a bit stale of late (and because it’ll likely be revisited countless times in future), Jordan has temporarily been promoted to Jaguarland. This means that Toyota now faces the challenge of Minardi – just ask Ron if that’s as dead cert as it seems.
Anyway, here are the duels:
F1 Pools, Round 5/18 (Spain) Qualifying duels: Race duels: 1. Ferrari – Renault 7. Ferrari - Renault 2. BAR - Williams 8. BAR - Williams 3. McLaren – Sauber 9. McLaren - Sauber 4. Jaguar – Jordan 10. Jaguar - Jordan 5. Minardi – Toyota 11. Minardi - Toyota 6. Toyota – Jaguar 12. Toyota - Jaguar
I’m sure you’re clever enough to locate the rules yourselves, should you feel an irresistible urge to (re-)read them but, anyway, they can be found HERE.
Otherwise, just proceed as normal and post your 12-correct guesses before qualifying. The preferred format is 1X2 22X XX2 212 but basically anything that doesn’t require supernatural skills to make sense of is OK by me.
Good luck, everyone! Let’s see if someone can finally threaten dnbn’s reign as the F1 Pools top dog. Personally I’m more of a cat person but I have great plans nevertheless. You just beware…
