Found out today of a 'Grand Prix Magazine' in 1999 that had Skid Solo in it with art by legendary British comic artist John Cooper. Who has sadly just passed away. I'd really like to try to track this magazine down bug as yet no little about it. I presume it was published by Fleetway? But not really sure?

Came across this little gem just now. Part of a gallery of British comic art which includes covers from all eras and all genres.

There are some other motor and bike racing-related ones, including this one. In the context of its times it's rather strange: as I'm sure you're aware all foreigners were usually dastardly cheats, but this Italian chappie appears to have the makings of a good sort ...

Looks to me like Skid is one of the new Top Gear presenters!

No scans at the moment but looking back on these pages and the Skid Solo strip in a Roy of the Rovers Annual. In another Roy of the Rovers Annual there's a wonderful article by Martins Marverlous Mini artist about him Go Karting coplete with artwork which includes references to Martins Mavolous Mini
