8344 W1, then 2636 W1
from Jean-Maurice's post. I have nothing. Could it be temporary plates for car 7142 RK 7 or is it proven Pourtout bodied four cars ?


It found (looking for something else) some confirmation for the above, hinting for only 3 Pourtout Riley. See here :

Sadly the prewarcar classified is gone.

So the history would be the following : Lapchin bought a regular Sprite, apparently chassis 46A-2614 in 1936 (the chassis number indicates a production date between july 1935 and october 1936). It got french registration 8344 W1. For 1937, the car was rebodied by Pourtout, looking like the Ecurie Eudel two TT Sprite, but with a bigger radiator opening. During that year, it was sold to Raoul Forestier, and registered 7142 RK 7...

Now the funny thing is the car shown in the blog above, sporting today chassis number 46A-2614 and registered BU 9099, has a narrow radiator opening...
