I am searching for results and photographs from the 1966 Chamrousse Hillclimb. Would any Atlas F1 Nostalgia Forum members have this information?

Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Thank you! Very kind of you to point out the archived Forum thread to me, Mr. Boecker. Kind regards also to Mr. Humphries for his posting, which is much appreciated.

What I had hoped to find was a reference to a race car driven by William "Billy" Dulles (or possibly Tim Lalonde), namely the first Marcos Mini MkII, UK-registered 270 DGJ and painted in bright orange with a black bonnet (perhaps an early inspiration for Bovesepien and his later Alpina BMW 2002ti works race cars?).

Mr. Dulles would have been participating in the 1966 Chamrousse hillclimb immediately following the GP Mugello race of 17.7.66, which was won by Koch & Neerspasch in their Porsche 906.

I'm interested to confirm 270 DGJ's particpation and a result for this little car in the Chamrousse event, if possible.

Again, thanks to those who have responded thus far.

Best Regards,
Andy Seward

Andy

The Mini Marcos would have been placed in the sports/prototype class. I have a record of the fastest 10 in that class and as the Mini Marcos was competing against the GT40, three 904GTS, works Alpines and some fast Abarths, not surprisingly, it does not get a mention.

Dear Mr. Humpries,

Thank you for that information. I understood that the Mini Marcos finished second in its class behind Henrioud in the works Alpine 110, and that Dulles received a paperweight as a trophy for his efforts! Or perhaps that was a consolation prize? Wasn't this the year that the venue was changed to La Morte?

Best Regards,
Andy

Please excuse my spelling! I meant Jean-Pierre Hanrioud , not Henrioud, of course.

The sports/prototype class was split into a number of sub-classes, a 1300cc class is most probable.
No information except Hanrioud's Alpine Renault A110 would have won that. The climb was 11.8km compared to the previous 3 years which were longer, but how long I am not certain.
