chatting with Cirrus the other night, we came to the conclusion that it's probably too late in the month to have a November meeting, so how about trying to arrange a pre-Christmas meal?
We thought maybe a chinese or a curry somewhere in the middle of December. I'm OK with any date that I'm not working. Anyone?

Sounds like a good idea. Wednesdays are best for me.

Great idea. Actually, I'd be prefectly happy with a meal at the usual place if that's easier for everyone.

Well - me, of course!

I'd have a slight preference for a curry, but I'm not fussy.

Chinese is fine with me. If we're thinking of a Wednesday, the 1st December is probably best for me - what about the other potential diners?

Chinese or Indian is fine, although in truth I am more of a roast beef and Yorkshire pudding man.

1st December is fine too.

Best wishes to all

Unfortunately, I can't make the 8th, but could do the 1st, or 15th. At this busy time of year it's impossible to satisfy everyone, so if the 8th suits the majority, then go with it.

I'll expect a full report on the topics of discussion, though......

8th December should be OK with me but I'll have to confirm this a little later.

I'm afraid I'll have to pass on this one - we have a Motorfilms Quarterly presentation that evening alongside the VSCC movie night at Bonhams in London.

If Wednesay is OK, can we have details of the venue, time etc?
Is anywhere booked?

We could always go to the pub anyway if a meal doesn't materialise :)

That's fine with me - book a table, Gary. If you recall, The Forum was central to the first TNF Get Together. I think we should raise a glass to Warren Zevon!

I'll book a table for 5, for 8.30, that should do it I reckon. How is that with everyone?

Afraid I can't either, much as I'd like to..............so likewise, Seasonal Greetings to all, and see you next year.

Unfortunately, it's all collapsing around our ears. I've now got to work late tomorrow, Gary has major pc problems, and can't even read this thread, and it looks as though it's not a good night for a number of people.

I've had a chat with Gary, and we think that the best thing is to postpone (not cancel - note) the meal until sometime in mid January.

Apologies if this inconveniences anyone.

Anyway, a Merry Christmas to all TNFers - and watch this space for details of the revised get together.

I could see this coming to be honest. December does get a bit busy "function" wise - I've a Seven Club dinner tomorrow.

Have a great Christmas everyone - and I look forward to seeing everybody in January now (even though I'll be up to my eyes with tax Self Assessment deadline work).

I'm really struggling this week, but was going to try to make it somehow.

As I do so not want to miss it, it actuall helps me if we postpone...

Likewise a happy Christmas to you all -- (maybe as a 'new year thing', we'll each have a few new books, films or goodies to talk about by then too!)
