Looks a bit like Regga but I don't think it is!

However .... this could be a great caption thread. Like ... what's the cool dude with the thumbs in the waist band whispering to the other cool dude in the dark suit? :)

What's the car? It looks like a Formula Ford or was there an Argentinian equivalent at the time?

I found (accidentally) the magazine, and read the caption:

"... Enrique Scalabroni (project leader)..."

Don Pablo,

Please clarify one thing... Is true that Scalabroni does not drive, or does not hold a driver's license? Or would that be Sergio Rinland? Or, instead, none of them - and this is just a silly story?

I read this once at Autosprint, but an Argentinean friend of mine said that that was impossible, and argument ensued and we never found the truth.

(imagine that, two Italians, one Chilean, one Argentinean, two Brazilians and... a Dutch talking about racing - why should we argue? Why can't we just get along? What is the PROBLEM WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! )

(Well, poor of my Dutch friend Hans - but at least that happened during a few rounds of Heineken)

Cheers,

Muzza

He doesn't drive indeed... and was afraid of airplanes. Once, (I think it was in 1982) in a flight San Juan-Buenos Aires he left the plane in a middle stop at Catamarca, and took a bus to complete the trip... The bus take more than half a day to reach Buenos Aires.

The answer is simple you aren't British or Italian or French or even German, and I've run out of racing colours, which is just as well as the computer won't accept any more. :) :D

My apologies,

Can a Spanish speaker please explain the jokes to Alejandro and tell him that we only started making jokes after his question was answered as Sergio Rinland and confirmed. We do tend to forget that not everyone is a native English speaker or as fluent as ... Wolf.... say.

The very last thing I would want is that Alejandro should fell he is not welcome here. I don't have enough Spanish to even say "Welcome" i think it is "bene venue"

I don't think you need to worry too much, Duncan. Our friend jadb1 is a regular poster on Felix's Spanish forum Foro Historia (in fact he's on line there as I type). I am sure he realises what's happening .... if not, I'm equally sure Senor Muelas will explain!

Sorry to come in so late in the piece (I have to ration my reading of TNF posts) but have I missed something here?

I thought he was identified as Enrique Scalabroni.

Yes., is ENRIQUE SCALABRONI, no doubt about that.

In the picture from the left: Carlos Sanhueza (chilean publicist and manager), Eliseo Salazar, Enrique Scalabroni (proyect manager and designer), Juan Pablo Laskac, German Fisher and Alberto Famá (builder of the engine IAVA).

Another pic of same car., the driver is my friend Juan Pablo Laskac.
