RON HARRIS
" It's with regret that we record the death of former Formula 2 entrant Ron Harris just prior to the first preview showing of his motor racing film 'One by One' in London last Thursday. A film distributor, Harris contributed a great deal to F2 in the early and mid-1960s, running the works Lotus F2 team for Jim Clark, Mike Spence and Peter Revson before moving on to the ambitious Protos project with Frank Costin and Brian Hart. His final involvement was with a team of Tecnos in the 1968 Argentine Temporada series and after that he retired from the motor racing scene. 'One by One' has its premiere on October 16th at the ABC cinema in Fulham Road. We hope it is well supported. Ron Harris was 69 years old and leaves a wife, Francoise, and a four-year-old daughter to whom we offer our deep sympathy."

I would like to participate to the Ron Harris forum and ,hopefully, get in touch with his daughter Roseaimee to give her plenty of information about her extraordinary father and a few pics.
My mail is francois.laurent2@gmail.com ...by the way, it is Ron Harris who taught me English ....
Please, answer me ,I was so sad to loose contact with him during my long studies in france : once I asked around Oxshott and was told" this wealty guys ,they disappear to the "côte d'azur" in France , where indeed he used to spend holydays ...often winning enough money in the casinos ( "la roulette" ) to spend a week longer or so! He was furious because he ost part of the exaust pipe of his red E-Type Jag on the bad railways crossings in France !!!

My name is François LAURENT ,born in 1943,French, and as I spent many summers in the house of Ron Harris "brands hatch" in Oxshott in the late 50' and the early 60' ; I used to "warm" in the paddock the lotus formula 2 geen cars of Mike Spence, Jim Clark or Jackie Stewart with a yellow Mechanics armband on ( wich I might have still somewhere ...)

Leafing through an old Motoring News, I found this brief obituary; I thought it might be of interest to Roseaimee and readers of this thread. From the September 25th 1975 edition, in 'Track Topics':

Any word on this film 'One by One'? Still available anywhere? Subject and content?

..... Others involved during my time were Malcolm Angood, Rex Bates and Kiwis Tony Rolley, Rob ?, and Arthur who looked after the shop.
Do we know if Malcolm Angood was the creator of the Angood clubman's car raced by Brian? Harmer around 1970/73?

No confusion with the Anco and Mr Toft, and it was Michael Harmer and 1972 in particular, in a 997cc clubman's car. Were there several Angood cars?

Hopefully this has attached a home video taken in approx late 1968 / early 1969 at the Master Robert Motel when Ron Harris was selling off the Lotus Formula 2 cars, a mixture of Lotus 35 and 44, with the 41 that Revson raced at Monaco.

Just to add to the home vid, Ron apparently used to stay at the Master Robert Motel ( which is still there in Hounslow,) perhaps one the Autosport collectors can find the advert for the event as I pretty sure it was advertised. Apart from the starring role of my Mum, at c. 15 seconds and 34 secs there is John Hogan ( red jacket ) and I think Dewar Thomas and Bob ?. At 37 seconds is Ron Harris ( orange jacket, thick glasses ) beside him is Francoise.
Have another movie of a F2 non championship race at Brands Hatch around the same time, late 68/69? Again old issues of Autosport may provide the answer.
