While doing some research I stumbled over this link on the Belgian Porsche and Cooper driver who participated in the 1958 German GP:
http://www.ifrance.c...le/goethals.htm
The age (70 years in 1998) fits and it was before his death in 2003.
The article is written in lousy English and quite spiteful but interesting nevertheless.
Does anyone know anything more about the background?
Christian Goethals

I'm pretty sure that this is not the racing driver they're talking about, Goethals is a common name in Belgium. Racing driver Christian Goethals was of noble origin, his father was mayor of Heule (near Courtrai/Kortrijk). He owned a Toyota garage and at one time even sold Lamborghini cars. And he certainly didn't know a thing about computers.
My friend visited him in 2000 and wrote an article about his career in an Old Timer magazine.

Thanks for the additional information. That article is pretty screwed. The Order of Malta is not exactly a criminal organisation though. Lol
