From a library copy of the Autocar, I noted the race winners at the October 1903 Berlin races as
Kruger (Kruger)
Mathis (de Dietrich)
Ordt (Mercedes)
Hieronymous (Mercedes)
Beconnais (Darracq)
Meuller (Mercedes)

However, in his book The Three Pointed Star, D Scott Moncreiff quotes Mercedes success as Meuller (professionals) Poege (amateurs) and Auffmordt (touring)

Are these two different meetings or have I copied down information wrongly??

This got me to thinking how few races appear to have been run in Germany pre 1914. Other than the Berlin races I know only of the Kaiserpreis 1907 and Berlin-Leipzig-Berlin 1898 & 1899. Were there others? If not, why for a country with a healthy motor industry?

Automobilbahnrennen Westend. October 18th 1903.

Wagen bis 12 PS: Karl Gossi (NAG) 11min 48sec
Wagen bis 19 PS: EEC Mathis (De Dietrich) 19min 54sec
Wagen 10-30 PS: C Auffm Ordt (Mercedes) 18min 15.1sec
Grosse Wagen über 30 PS: Pöge (Mercedes) 15min 51sec

Rennwagen bis 30 PS. Berufsfahrer: Béconnais (Opel) 19min 22.1sec
Rennwagen über 30 PS. Berufsfahrer: Müller (Mercedes) 15min 39sec

Source: Braunbeck's Sport-Lexikon

So, essentially the top four classes were for production cars (and amateurs?), while the last two were purely for both racing cars and professionals. All races over 16090 metres, except the smallest class, which was over 8045 metres. There was also a motorbike race over the shorter distance, won by W Wondrich on a Laurin & Klement

Thanks very much for the replies. In my notes adding AUFFM to Ordt and changing driver Hieronymous to Poege makes it work!

With regards to Boniver's post, is there confusion between the Oostende (Ostend British spelling) Belgium meetings? There were annual races in this period.

I believe so. Westend was a horse race course of some sort, somewhere in the Charlottenburg district, I think. A bit of Googling brought up a listing from ABEbooks which includes an entry for a German dealer who was selling a photograph of this race meeting.
