my father used to race formula fords in the 1970's in the united states and canada. he was at a race at trois rivieres in the early 1970's. I don't recall the exact year. I have heard the story many times, but i don't recall what year it was. anyways, he was in the race when he got booted into the barriers by someone from behind. after he got out of the wreckage, a quebec news reporter got into my fathers face and started speaking french to him and sticking the microphone into my fathers face. he kept pushing him away b/c my dad didnt speak any french. plus, he just crashed and totally wrecked his car. the reporter aggravated my father so much, that my father lost his temper, punched the reporter and threw him away.
later on, the police tried to arrest him. he was being pulled by one arm by the police and by the other by the race promoter. eventually, he walked away from it all. later that night, he was having dinner and saw a news report with himself punching the reporter.
the whole point of this post is to tell the story and to ask if any you guys or girls have any ideas of where i might try to look to get a hold of this footage.
Any video of a 1970s Trois Rivieres formula ford race?

Hmmm, why not write the GP organizers in Trois Rivieres? Been the same guys since day 1. Or the local Trois Rivieres TV stations, or perhaps ASN Canada FIA (in Toronto) or the Cdn Motorsport Hall of Fame, or CANSPAN (in Montreal) which promoted FF from the eighties on, if not earlier. Not much help there, I fear.
