Ben, a hasty google shows Dr Charles Ogle was injured "stock car testing" @ Daytona on 15 Dec 85 and died, presumably as a result of those injuries, 11 days later.

Article from the "Ocala Star-Banner", dated December 27, 1985:

Businessman-Race Car Driver Dies 3 Weeks After Accident

DAYTONA BEACH - Dr Charles Ogle, a successfull Knoxville, Tenn businessman and part-time race car driver, died Thursday at Halifax Medical Center of injuries suffered three weeks ago when his car flipped during a practice run at Daytona International Speedway.

Ogle, 44, was testing a Pontiac Sunbird at the banked superspeedway Dec 8 when it flipped on the backstretch. Speedway spokesman Fred Seely said nobody witnessed the accident and detaisl of the crash are sketchy.

Ogle died Thursday shortly after 2 pm, according to a nursing supervisor at the medical center who insisted that her name not be used and refused to give a cause of death. Seely said Ogle suffered head injuries in the crash.

Ogle competed in NASCAR's Daytona Dash Series, which features cars less powerful and smaller than the major NASCAR circuit.
