I'm planning a brief vacancy in the south of France for the first week of January and I'd like someone in this forum to tell me about the motor-related sites of that area. I'm going to stay in Marseille for few days and then I'll wander merrily through Camargue and i'll come back to Italy crossing the Provence.

Thank you in advance!

It looks very interesting (that Pironi-Jaussaud Alpine make my mouth water  ) ...and there's a cheap fare too. I think I'll pay a visit there for sure, since is right on the road back home.

Thank you!

Careful folks,
Don't open that website unless you want to be infested with little screens popping up all over the place.

Sorry if those pop ups appear... I use a pop up blocker and didn't notice... Never seen any though... Sure it's not only your computer tat is polluted ? :rotfl:

Just wanted to give an idea...Just noticed that teapot was glad to have that link... that's all i'll retain from that....

Next time i'll just give the idea without any chance to have a look...

If it has bothered our visitor, i'll pay him a beer there (a nice way to have a look at GH 'hill' Embassy lola stucked in in the backstages....) and a nice excuse

just drop a message...

Anyway there was a similar ask this summer i guess and many TNF gave other nice ideas between Marseille and the italian border.... You should dig that unless they don't recall those vosits here...

Otherwise, shave, wear a short pant and make a photo for us in the ferrari.... And insert it in 'pics from paddock thread' to see if somebody recognize you

D-type is correct. That website is appalling! Probably, these warnings are too late.

If this is the museum of cars and the cinema, its just off the Cote d'Azur motorway and is very good.

When I visited in 2000, they had at least 20 very interesting racing and sports cars including the Bugatti Tank and an Iso Marlboro, to name but 2.

I see... thank you for the informations...now all I have to do is to persuade my not-motor-interested-mates to stop there and visit the museum (or wait for me on the side of an highway)!

Mr, I didn't post any link. I only asked for some advice.

So, before you make your accusations, try to have a careful look to the thread and to realize who posted what.

My respects.

Teapot,

Your friends will love the Mougins museum. Mine did.

Also go to Monaco and park the car in the garage and talk a walk around the racetrack. Your friends will love the cars, boats, shops, bars, girls. Or they can go to the Tropic fish museum???

Dont bother to drop bye on the Paul Ricard track. You wont get further than the gates.
But there are other tracks around..

Miramas is not far from Marseilles on the road to Arles. I'm not sure that it is open to the public.

Then there's Ledenon, a bit further away near Nîmes.

Sorry was away for a couple of days but as I am in the area I suggest you look into the Le Luc circuit which is near Draguignan. Coming on the main autoroute from the west take the spur on to the TOulon autoroute and immediately come off the autoroute and follow signs to Le Luc.
The company running it has a racing school where you can have a few laps in a Formula 3 car and possibly qualify to have a run in a Formula 1 AGS-Cosworth.
The owners bought up the rights and designs of the AGS and they have a superb spotless workshop where you can see the four or five AGS cars they have there. They are all brand new cars built in the workshops and alongside are about fifteen AGS Formula 3 cars. Everything is spotless and immaculate.
Also if in Draguignan you could look for the Garage de L'Hermitere run by Didier Rives as he occasionally has some of the cars of his collection there. These include the Brooklands special based on a Frazer Nash Chain Gang called the Silver Hawk, he also has an OSCA MT4, a Stanguellini Junior, a Bugatti T35 etc.etc.But there is usually something interesting in the garage.

Good luck
GG

...Not the 1st time i'm hitted here by 'friendliness' advices or quotes like that...

With AGAIN all my excuses... And wishing to the majority of TNF'rs the best christmas eve and a happy new year

In 1971 I visited The French GP at Le Castelet. (Paul Ricard).
Some miles from Marsaille we were stopped by a bus...(Lotus) I beleieve...asking for the way to Paul Ricard.
As we had been there for a day or two....we pointed them in the right direction.

At the "tentplace" we got friends with another Swedish couple...and had a great time.

To our surprice...one night...we were visited by a couple I recognised emiediatly...
REINE WISELL and his girlfriend MONICA at the time.

We were tenting just beside REINEs brother and his wife.
He (Reines brother) never said a word.

Be careful.

At the time I had a 356 Porsche 1959 Hardtop.
One nigt in a nearby town...I stopped for a "redlight"...and got smasched from behind by a BIG Citroen...I turned my head and found a glad Frenchman...giving me blowkisses.
In France... a smashed rear-light or a wasted number-plate...is worth nothing.
