I would say so, Allen:
No chance in the world of doing a whole lap, though.

According to GEL Motorsport Information:-
Also known as the Ancol circuit, it held the Jackie Stewart road races in March 1982. Stewart dropped the flag for the start of the races, waved the chequered, and handed out the prizes. It held races in the 1970s, hosting the Grand Prix of Indonesia.
What was the Stewart connection about? I don't recall ever hearing about that?

Reward! Remember that JYS was also 'the face' of the Detroit GP when it was introduced, bubbling publicly as I recall about the circuit being so "glamorous" and "matching the magic of Monaco".
There is a contrast here.
When Moss was put up front - for reward - by Mercedes-Benz and Nurburgring GmbH at the launch of the rebuilt modern short course he was asked his opinion of the venue and - typically - said when he really thought: "Well - it's not a place where legends will be written...".
I'm still a fan of both.

JYS also said nice things about Bathurst on a visit in late 70s. Somehow this ended up being embellished in NZ press to effect that the circuit would hold a World Championship GP within a couple of years.
I asked David McKay about this at Manfeild a couple of months later. "There may be an F1 GP in Australia in your lifetime but definitely not in mine." That convinced me that a move to London was essential. I've never been to an Australian GP but I did get to see Gilles win at Monaco.

If that was the David McKay who passed away in 2004, he was wrong. And you could have stayed at home! Although seeing Gilles win at Monaco was worth the trip alone.

Absolutely...
I did both.

Indeed it was him. It must have been January 1980 as I'm sure he was there with Australian John Smith who won both Formula Pacific races (aka Formula Atlantic) in a Ralt RT1. Their test session obviously paid dividends.

Re: Grand Prix of Poland
I don't think the 1963 Polish GP had a Grand Prix title given by FIA/FISA
but:
in 1939 12th Rally of Automobile Club of Poland was attributed by AIACR with Grand Prix status.
This Rally is run till now as Rally of Poland, this year we had 77th running as well as 100th anniversary.

Grzegorz - I think the 1939 event was the first time it had been accorded the status of Épreuve à Priorité on the AIACR International Calendar, but the extra name would have been down to the national club submitting that as their preference to the CSI.
I haven't checked, but I don't think it had ever been an international event previously, having only been open to Polish crews? It's an intriguing one, as I'm also not aware of any other rally ever being named as a national Grand Prix.
