Walter Weeke from Mönchengladbach (Germany) was a stalwart in german Formula 3 1951-1955, racing his own home-built specials. After a break he returned in 1960 for one more season, now in Formula Junior, and again racing a self-built car with a DKW engine. At about the same time he emigrated to California, to the Los Angeles / Inglewood - region, took the F Junior with him and did some racing there. Until now, thanks to the websites of Frank Sheffield and Stefan Örnerdal, I could only find him at the Ponoma races in 1960 and 1961:

1961: http://www.fototime....597B8F/orig.jpg (#133) and http://www.formula2.net/FJ61_W46.htm

My question: has he left any other traces in the californian racing scene of this time? Any other races, even pictures or memories?

Thanks in advance, and from my side I can add a private, contemporary picture of the Weeke DKW in the Mönchengladbach workshop:

Thank you, eukie, for starting this thread, I am VERY interested in everything about American (and Australian) Formula Junior. And it was a very surpise to find Walter Weeke's name in American racing.
I have asked before - anyone who knows of any books or websites or whatever, where to find FJ race results in non-European countries?

Nice car!

Stefan

Weeke also competed in the 1962 Los Angeles Times GP at Riverside:

Also found these results from Santa Barbara in 1959, which show Walter Weeke in a Weeke-Renault running in H modified:
