Is it time to start panning the next meeting? I hope that, as the evenings are light longer, Barry will be able to join us.

Absolutely. As usual we need to avoid pubs sullied by screens showing the F sport. ):

David,

I don't understand, I thought you enjoyed F1...?

My understanding of 'panning' is the relocation of sound objects within the stereophonic image. Does this often happen at the Northern TNF meetings?

Matt.

Matt, way too techy for me. There is some 'panning' goes on at Northern TNF meets, usually on the following :

The F-Word, IRS matters, obsessive discussion of 70s F2/F3 chassis, criticism of modern 'Eff-1', lager, wimmin in 4x4s, cross-dressers, those not au fait with de Dion axles, overlong posts on TNF (esp those re a certain Kiwi), lack of attendance by other Northern TNFers.

How's next Thursday chaps ??

Thursday's fine by me. We can discuss Liverpool and Chelsea and keep an eye on Newcastle's progress. As long as we steer clear of politics and the demise of Rover.

How about the Bird in Hand at Guidon Sutton again?

That venue is most acceptable to a traveller from the far reaches of Wales.

Whether or not the F word is mentioned will depend on events in Munich on Tuesday.

I will try to rustle up Leeturne this time.

I'll try and get there this time but just one question after 20 years in South Africa, where's Guidon Sutton?
Another OT question but can you change your user name without losing all of the settings? I see that on this sensible forum most folks use their full name. Mine was chosen whilst browsing the RC forum where anonymity is a blessing most of the time.

Cheers

Lee, you would need to work your way across to the M.6, down to the M.56, turn west then split off onto the M.53. When that ends, it becomes the A.55 Chester Ring Road. Turn left onto the A.51 and the Guilden Sutton turn is a mile or so along the A.51, on the left.

You would need to re-register under your proper name - there are people around here who have re-registered several times.

So it's Thursday at the Bird in Hand, Guilden Sutton.

Couple of questions:

a) What time do we congregate?

b) Someone going to book a table?

c) Do they do food?

That should keep you busy!

I may be struggling chaps this Thursday, sorry after having suggested this date myself ! I'll check with the Boss tonight. I must say Roger I am looking forward to discussing 'F' matters with you this week...

Roger and Dan have seen the Connew model - is anyone else interested in seeing it?

Well.... yes, but it will have to be one of the off-centre ones as I have no 'perfect' ones left until I find a new supplier.

I'll sort out the best one.

Sorry chaps can't do it this week (much better for me if we could postpone to next week if thats not being too impertinent).

And Roger, by the 'F-Word' I didn't mean F--ff, rather the sporting F-Word, particularly events at a certain East Anglian club last Saturday...

I have to be honest and say that I would much rather stick to the original date of Thursday this week.

A week later is more difficult for me.

I'd prefer to stay with the arrangements we have made, but I'd welcome an early follow up if there's any interest. Barry and I will be away at the time we'd expect the May meeting to take place, so a get-together in early May or even later in April would be fine.

Dan, I realised what you were talking about but I was trying to avoid the subject. It's not often Canaries get the chance to crow (:o sorry) but the worst of it is that United won't get the chance for revenge next season.

Sorry folks, but for the first time I'm going to have to miss the TNF Northern UK meeting.
I'm having to dine out on company expenses tomorrow.

It's not all bad though...
1. You lot can talk about football all night, if you wish, without annoying me.
2. I shall be dining with Ove Anderson's cousin...and he has some good stories.

See you all next time.

This is now looking rather weak.... (only 4 at the most, I think)

Should we reschedule?

This is looking better.

Now we need to make sure that Steve knows and hope that Roger gets home soon as I have been ringing him for the last hour.

If leeturne spots this - sorry about the messing about, Lee - blame everyone else!

Are you there, Dan?

Roger Barry!

Scrubbed tonight's foray and slotted Tuesday into diary.

Still the same venue and time?

Damn, Damn and an extra slice of Damn. After several none appearances by me, what do I find? - a shut pub! (There's no excuse for that kind of behaviour ;) )

Oh well, better luck next time.

All 6 of us waited until nearly 7.45 but then decided we had to move on. What time did you arrive?

About 7:46! (it would have been about 7:44, but I got slightly lost). Oh well, thanks anyway to everyone for hanging around, and I hope you all had a good evening.

See you next time

Sorry Gav again. Without your mobile as Barry said, we didn't know how contact you.

We ended up at the Olive Tree Kelsall. The beer was good, food too, we reckoned it could be a good regular venue for us. Various subjects discussed as always, maybe the highlight was Steve W's quiz, a sort of 8W, though I think the subjects were a little too modern for certain of the assembled throng!

BEWARE Danny Boy! I have already had two requests (both of which are physically possible!) to include at least one 'historically interesting car'. So its bound to have a De Dion tube fitted!!!!!

Gav, sorry you couldn't make it as Dan needed some opposition in the quiz.

I certainly enjoyed the Magical Mystery Tour round the Cheshire lanes.

See you all again at the next Northern TNF bash!

Steve, what time did you get back? I got lost heading back to the M56 near Frodsahm, took me about an hour home.

Btw, I'm still not convinced re that Anson and Tiff N !!
