Great story, Phil.

Hope you are feeling better now - perhaps bump into you at Old Trafford over Christmas...

A lot more photos here in slideshow format, including the video clips in case Youtube is misbehaving. It should just run if you click the link.

Looks like a good night from the pictures. KingsleyLate not so tardy...

However I must point out that Rob was amongst the last to arrive so maintaining his reputation, On track it was another question altogether - Note to self: must practice for next year's event!

:well:

I hope that the observant amongst you have noted that Sergeant Wilko was the only one present who was correctly attired and wearing the TNF cravat.

Yes I noted that Alan, but then again Sarge usually looks as if he's stepped out of the 1950s. Apart from his occasional baseball cap of course. I suggested rather late that we might make it period attire. Possibly next year, our very own Northern Revival. Certainly the track with minimal run off and precipitous drops fits the bill. I note on one of the pictures above my left hand is positioned to catch the RaineMeister's speeding steed.

I've been doing a spot of research on my excellent Andy Warhol W196 mug - a nice complement to my treasured Fangio-autographed Nicholas Watts "Summer of '54" print. Although interested by the form of cars, he never had a driving licence. More info here for the artistically inclined http://articles.mcal...arhol-karl-benz

Lovely set of pictures, David.

Did Condor shy away from the camera? Come to that, I don't see anyone called Pat in any of the photos - or Mrs. Aurora.

I must say that despite his advanced age, Mr. Kingsley still looks like a rosy cheeked 4th former.

Rectified. I hope they don't mind!

Still here...

I'm in David's video - I'm marshalling at the end of the table :cat:

The group shot I took should have had most of us in. I think it's only Simon that is obscured in that one.

Pat B gave her camera to Pat C when it was Pat B's turn to do her laps. Unfortunately Pat C wasn't too sure about the camera so gave it to me to snap Pat B's race. It was at this time that the connection for the hand controller was playing up so there should be quite a few photos on Pat B's camera of Pat B attempting the impossible and getting the car to go more than a few yards and a few more of the valiant efforts of Simon A holding the plug trying to make it all work. If David B can get hold of Pat B's camera card then we might see a picture of Pat doing the best she can :)

What do you get if you cross a Condor with a Giraffe?

A divorce, I suspect.

That's a cracker! If I was posting on my laptop I'd put a smiley or two. Can't find them on the phone.

If there's any dosh over from that collected for the return of the grid, perhaps we should donate it to the Giraffe pully fund, so he can afford one with a stripe on both sides next time.

Do they have a branch of Specsavers in Malta Barry? If so perhaps you could get someone to guide you to them on Monday morning.

Don't worry Rob, it matches now. When I got home & told my partner Anne that I had lost to you in the final, she tore a strip(e) off me......... ;)

Time for another? I know that the 31st Jan, 7th and 14th Feb are inconvenient to various people so if we want to stay with the usual Thursdays it's either 24th Jan or 21st Feb (or later).

24th Jan may be a problem for me just awaiting relatives firming up the date of their visit!

I'm a proponent of Thursdays for our get togethers, except the first one in the month. Is Thursday 31 January a possibility, acknowledging that Paul can't make it as he's off on one of his very regular post-retirement holidays?
