Searching for 'Swedish Rally 1973', using Google, I fond, as 5th result, the following site:
www.rallybase.nl

As an example, the link for the 1973 rally is:

This will give you answers to some of your questions. Have fun.

You can be pretty sure jrally knows what can be found on RallyBase as he is one of the main contributors ;) If he's still looking for a result, the chances that it can be found online are negligible - I know how much time he has spent on his research...

I will have a look in my library tomorrow, monday.
I am pretty sure I can come up with the results of the 1978 event. I am quite confident they are complete too. I have a book on the Swedish Rally, as well as period magazines.

Entry lists are harder to come by, as they were rarely published in any Swedish magazines.

The organisers of the event should have those records, maybe they are willing to give a hand.

If the book you are referring to is Full fart genom Sverige, I'm afraid it's not going to be of much help as it only lists class positions, no overall positions nor finishing times...

The organisers do not have the results anymore as far as I know. The story I've heard is they lost most of their archives in a flood

So what we are relying on in this matter is either period magazines or people involved at the time who have kept their entry lists or results sheets.

I have an Italian Rally annual which gives first 30 placings for the 1978 rally(there were 112 entries and 60 classified finishers) , first three placings for 1975, and first ten for 1979 (there were 113 entries and 39 classified finishers).

Why ? because there is a discrepancy between this result and other sources I have.

Ah, the Swedish 1978 again :

So far we have found five sources with five different results for the positions outside the top 10...

The result I have chosen so far for RallyBase (http://www.rallybase...ult&rallyid=327) is from French magazine Sport Auto. The top 15 matches with the top 15 given in Vauhdin Maailma, and a statement from Martin Holmes that he finished the rally in 18th. Italian magazine Autosprint and yearbook Velocità & Rallye 78 give slightly different versions of the top 20, with different times for the competitors.

The usually quite reliable Full fart genom Sverige (Tunberg and Haventon) which unfortunately only gives class positions includes other drivers in the result that don't show up in other sources, or only in one other source, and has some drivers in other positions in their class.

A real mess, if only somebody had the official results as published by the organisers...

[edit]because the times for Blomquist and Olsson in the result provided by fudjones match those in Sport Auto, I have added the other crews mentioned in his post to the result as well[/edit]

Finally I have dug out the results as they appeared in the Feb 1978 publication of RALLYNYTT, a Swedish rally magazine.

Please note that Gert Blomqvist did not drive a 131 Abarth, he drove a "normal" 131 Mirafiori in near showroom spec.

I'd like to know if there's anyone here with complete stats on WRC history. eWRC and other sites have the classifications, the models and so on, but I am looking for more info concerning the entrants.
