Hullo Lee;
There was a family tie up with the Dailty Planet car and Griffith I was told.
It was a nephew or cousin I believe.
The entrant was very specific in making sure the pronounciation was "Trimbole" not "Trimbolee".
Not much difference I know.
Regarding the Laser, I am sure one raced in the Carla Zampatti colours in the Laser series.
It was certainly driven by a lady.
It was not Chris Gibson (Cole) ,Suzy Ransome or Alexandra Surplice.
Robin Hamilton raced more than Geminis.
She raced a Formula Ford sponsored by "Charlie" which was a cosmetic.
Am almost certain it was Robin but I am only working on memory.
Many moons ago now. :lol:
Cheers.
Roger.

The Laser series was before the release of the [first] Zampatti Laser in about 85. Robyn raced FF in about 1979-80,, after she raced Gemenis.

For some reason I always liked the Leyland S##T logo like the one on the door.

Somehow, I've always found Tyrrell's 'Candy' (manufacturer of washing machines) sponsorship slightly odd.

During one of the Silverstone GPs there was a demonstration of Candy Domestic Appliances. It consisted of a trailer load of washing machines being towed slowly around the circuit. Certainly made my day.

Similar thing happened at Brands Hatch 1980 with a flat bed Ford 3 tonner laden with washing machines 2 or 3 deep strapped to the back, it seemed to get up to Druids alright not sure what happened after that :stoned:

Not sure when this linked photo was taken of Jerry Walsh and Village Purple Onion Discoteque GO GO GO GO sponsored Austin Healey but looks like a fun time was had by all.
