He would be in his mid 70's now, I suspect.

That must be 1976 Alan, or possibly 75, the car is a March 75S. Did John share the de la Mare 74S ever, I recall there was a one-off 100 Mile Sportscar race in late 74, but that was Thruxton, not your place, and de la Mare won. I think he drove solo though.

Somehow my pic of John had disappeared from page 1... I've reloaded it (and the B26 image).

Definitely John Lepp ion the left of the trio, I knew him well enough to buy an engagement ring and a wedding rig from him and before that time we had a girlfriend in common.

Here is John Lepp from a Uniroyal Saloon Car Race at Mallory Park 11th May 1986...
Gregor you may remember this race as it your father was in the Opel Monza and it featured the infamous Smith/Sands incident at the Esses ( As discussed previously on TNF)
I have posted some more pictures on the Club Racing thread.....
Kind regards

Phil - how could I forget it?! I have commented on your ohter photos in the Club Racing thread (great pictures BTW). I will have to check with the old Prod Saloon guys, maybe I've got my wires crossed and my memory is rubbish but I'm sure the guy I know as "John Lepp" is a completely different person - I suppose there could be a chance of there being more than one John Lepp in motor racing though.

He started out in 1961 driving a Peerless in sprints and hillclimbs. His next car was a Lotus Elite which was also used on the hills and sprints. As has already been noted he started racing in 1963 in a pre-production Elan purchased from Rodney Bloor.
In 1974 he and his brother Jim had six jewellers shops and a wholesale manufacturing company.

I understand John lives in Majorca these days and is somewhat on the reclusive side. I've been trying to put his old pal Jack back in contact with him, but to no avail so far.
