Hello,

Do you know website or old car magazines with the Monte Carlo rally full results from 1969-1971 ?
I am especially looking for the result of an Alpina BMW 2800 CS, and i guess it has raced in 1969, or in 1970, or in 1971.

I've had a look in my copy of the Maurice Louche book which has expanded results over the website mentioned above in 1970 but can find no mention of the car.

In 1970 there was a team with a BMW 2800.
it was the finnish crew Onni Vilkas-Martti Tiukkanen which started with Nº 73.
They don't appeared on final classification so they have retired or even didn't start.

Thank you for the additional information. There is a Mebetoys modell car which is named "BMW 2800 CS Alpina Rally" or "1/43 BMW 2800CS mebetoys Rally at Montecarlo Alpina 24".

I have seen the information of these car here:

So maybe Mebetoys created a "new" car, which was never existed.

The second site you mention also has a photo. The car is #24 - it should be possible to check if a BMW 2800 competed in the Monte with that entry number.

The car on the 2nd site (below) looks more like a Safari rally car than a Monte Carlo rally one.



Car #24 on the Monte in 1970 was Lancia Fulvia, in 1971 it was a Fiat 124.

In 1970 Vilkas-Tiukkanen did Monte with 2800 Saloon, but in 1971 they participated with a 2800 CS (retired).  feri, is this the car you're interested in?
