Does anyone know of any sites that contain information or stats on motor cycle grand prix racing prior to the World Championship. ie list of races, results, race distances, dates and so on ? Apart from the Geoff Davison books, there seems to be very little written on the subject

Paul
Cannot help I'm afraid but glad to see you on the forum.
Your arrival reminds me of the Westerns when THE gunslinger ambles into the saloon dressed in Black Buck skin.

Here's a link to a similar thread - maybe they should be merged?
http://forums.autosp...ighlight=ulster
Not much info out there on the internet by the look of it, except for individual events (but I'm sure I'll be proved wrong...).
Edit:- Just looked back at that thread, and mostly the same posters as here, so maybe no point in merging. Fingers crossed that this one grows a bit more.
Edit 2:- Thanks Eugen - that's a nicely laid out list of post-war results - and in case anyone else can't work out how to get from there to the pre-WWII section, click on 'Moto' on the menu line at the top of the page and theres a few links from there,

Hello Paul!
Nice to see you here, but you're really a little (too) late at the party...

I noticed this site is not working anymore. Perhaps I overlooked a thread but has this site been moved, or is there another site concerning the pre-1949 period.

Yep it has moved to : http://racingmemo.free.fr/ . Vincent is still doing regular updates on the site, these days mostly concentrating on the French races.
Laurence Hammond is the Paul Sheldon of motorcycle racing. Check here http://roadracingque....wordpress.com/ for some info on his project.

I would like this thread to "re-open" as it fits well before the next 49-67 thread !
If anyone is still looking for infos from this time here , I have some help to show , I believe.

I've heard that there were many races at Avus in pre-war times.
