Does anyone know the current location of this car? I was kucky enough that when I was a motor museum curator, we had this car, largely "un got at" and a joy to drive. I'd be interested to see pictures of the car, now and then, and what others have heard of it's history, as the history related to me was, shall we say a tad biased, although Mrs Goldie Gardner did confirm her husband's part in it's history.

Thanks in advance

My list of 'SF' numbers is incomplete, and there isn't a 31 on it
I assume it's an 8C-2300, of which Goldie Gardner had at least two at various times. If "yours" had a seven-figure Alfa Romeo chassis number, as several of the SF-numbered cars did, it might make it easier to trace. Or at least if you could say whether it was a 2- or 4-seater. Or if you remembered the reg number

I was being a bit vague as there is some confusion over the cars history, so it would be interesting to hear, who has heard what!

Two seater Zagato body, possibly the Enzo's car from his last victory the Bobbio Penice hill climb.

The only 2-seater I have listed in Gardner's ownership is c/no 21110016, reg BGO246, in his name in 1934, and with Paul Faulkes-Habard in the 1970s and 1980s. It went to North America about 10 years ago.
Gardner's name also appears as owner of 4-seater 2111011, reg GT6074, in 1933 and 1934. This would have been owned by Alain de Cadenet in your curator period, and is now owned by Bill Ainscough.
Much of the above courtesy Simon Moore's book

BGO 246, that's the one. I have a picture of Mrs Gardner, Paul and myself with the car. Bloody amazed it went to the States though, Paul said he'd never sell it. Maybe to do with a court case me thinks. I remember it was largely original, and hopefully still is? I was always a little dubious about the history applied to the car, the number SF31 appeared to have been stamped everywhere there was a space, but it was it the Nuvolari car from the Mille Miglia, and Enzo's last race winner?

Thanks for the input, I've learnt some new bits already!

Nuvolari's Mille Miglia winner?
Weren't they all?
Not this one, according to the Moore book, which does however give it three other wins in 1932, at Pontedecomi (Borzacchini) and Biella-Orpoa (Trossi), and in the Coppa Cimino (P Ghersi)
