OMG, those are Switzer designed racing boats made into cars. Those boats are very rare. The factory burned down and most of the hulls fell into disrepair when their racing lives were over. Wow!

Full resolution pic can be downloaded on this official GM Europe site.
It's about 2/3 down and it's big (12,4mb)! Some other illustrations of the new astra and lots of press pictures.

Very nice Alan! I was always pleased to have a colourful subject, even on race cars I would cheer up at the sight of a nice red bit somewhere!

In Mr Ludvigsen's Quicksilver Mercedes book there is an MB engineer's highly detailed drawing of this entire axle, suspension and hub device. Copyright prevents posting, but it is a marvel to behold.

Ahh, that's a shame, sounds wonderful! I shall try and track down the ISBN.

That works, Ibsen, thanks. Wow! What a lot of artwork, genuine paintings by G Betti - mixed in with CG stuff. It will take some time to digest... but not tonight!

Unfortunatly no. It was a semi-restricted forum anyway. You could look at a limited number of pages and than you had to register or you got kicked out...
But I see you found another door into the site I've linked to.

Nice to see some of Tony's work in Motor Sport this month. And a 917 cutaway in the magazine too - hope they become a more regular feature.

I think thats actually a cutaway of a Lotus 79. I recall seeing a cutaway of a Lotus 79 similar to that one (similar prospective and detail) in a artical on the Lotus 79 in an issue of Road & Track done by Doug Nye with the cutaway byTony Matthews.

I noticed that with Snr G Betti's Opel stuff too - the glass is no longer cut. As you know, I always thought that was unnecessary, even odd. I notice what looks like a bit of white airbrush up the screen also...
