Hi all,

I am not new to this forum but I only registered today. I know a few of you from other forums. :)

I am looking for information (e.g. starter list) of the Mille Miglia 1973. It was the 4th version of the modern Mille.

A friend of mine took part in his brother's BMW 328. The car had a transmission problem 500 m after the start so that they had to drive in a modern BMW 3.0i. :(
Now, after 32 years, we had a look at the slides my friend Franz took then (he was student in these days). We saw many interesting cars but were not able to identify many of them.
Sadly I have no possibility to scan the slides.
I also did not find any information in the internet including this forum.

Perhaps anybody is able to post some pictures / information.
Anything is welcome. :)

Thanks in advance,
Nils

You’re sure about 1973, for me the first Historic Mille Miglia became 1977

Yes, definately.

Maybe the organization changed later and the current organization begins to count from 1977 on.
The first modern one was held at 1970 - the events sure were a lot smaller than what is happening in these days ...

I know there was an article in German magazine Auto Motor Sport issue 12, page 164, but I don't own it.

also here you find a little hint: http://www.bmw-veter...ieder/Leonhard/ - Mr. Leonhard also took part with his BMW 328 in 1973.

Yes, the first "retro" MM was in 1970. I think part of the problem finding information may rise from the fact a different organization took over in 1977...

Have you acquired the facility to use a scanner in the past five years?
