Rubarő?

Where did you find this name nobody else on this planet seems to have heard of?

it was in one of the Auto Bild Motorsport in 2001.

There was a picture with Rubens, his father Rubens and his grandfather Rubaro.

Nadine-Nicole Frentzen, the younger sister of Heinz-Harald Frentzen, was also racing karts and she has some tests in ADAC Formula BMW as well.

Any details about her career?

I know she was (is?) dating Sven Heidfeld, brother of Nick Heidfeld and also racing driver (F3000).

Just been watching Colton Herta, son of Bryan, put in a dominant performance in Indy Lights at St Petersburg, finishing well ahead of 2016 Rookie of the Year Santiago Urrutia, who won four races in the series last year and only missed out on the title at the last race.

Colton's three weeks short of his seventeenth birthday. Which makes him younger than this thread!

Teo Fabi's father was also racing driver.

Stefan Johansson's father Roland was Rallye driver.

Nadine-Nicole did a couple of rounds of the Chevrolet Cruze Cup in Germany in 2011. She doesn't seem to have done much since then.

Heinz Prüller wrote that Eddie Cheever is related to Mansour Ojjeh. Any details about that?

Ermano Alboreto, brother of Michele, raced in Italian Formula 3 in the mid 80s.

I've read that there are 17 sons of former F1 drivers who competed in F1 as well. But I count 16:

Nico Rosberg

Damon Hill

Max Verstappen
Jolyon Palmer

Jacques Villeneuve

Kevin Magnussen

Kazuki Nakajima

Hans-Joachim Stuck

Christian Fittipaldi

Michael Andretti

Nelson Piquet

Markus Winkelhock

David Brabham

Gary Brabham

Teddy Pilette

Reg Parnell

I make it 15. Gary Brabham shouldn’t be on the list as he never qualified to start a championship GP, or even take part in official qualifying.

Although Reg Parnell’s son was christened Reginald Harold Haslem Parnell, his father hated those names and started calling him Tim, the name by which he was known for the rest of his life.

You can't include Alberto Ascari?

Strictly speaking, no, since his father never raced Formula One.   :drunk:

That was going to be my question too Ray. I'd think if Stuck is part of this list, Ascari should be also. However, with the list being labelled F1 by HF, ("I've read that there are 17 sons of former F1 drivers who competed in F1 as well. But I count 16") perhaps it shouldn't be included either.

edit: I forgot a couple of letters

You’re right, Brian. I’d missed History Fan’s ‘F1’ stipulation, so although Hans Stuck senior did compete in three World Championship GPs, they were races run to Formula 2 rules.

Stan Jones did drive an F1 car, a 250F, in Grands Prix...

That's ignoring the time he drove a Cooper Climax in a Grand Prix as it was not eligible for the current F1. I think we could sneak Alan in there through that crack.

Or not?

Perhaps on this forum we should take all references to F1 as meaning "Grand Prix Motor Racing", the term Tony Brooks used in a Sky programme (Legends of F1?). That way Antonio Ascari and Hans Stuck, not to mention Nuvolari, Caracciola, Lautenschlager, Szisz, Wimille, Varzi and many others are less likely to be airbrushed out of history by promoters of the absurd notion that motor racing was invented in 1950.

Kayla Green  daughter of long time Crew Chief Darryl 'Mouse' Green has had a successful run in Uncle Trevor Green's 410 Sprintcar over a few week period. Darryl and Trevor are the sons of Sedan Racer Kelvin Green so we are talking a period of near 50 years for this family.

Bud Tingelstad was not only the son of prewar racer Oscar Tingelstad, but also (younger?) brother of Jim Tingelstad, Stock car and Sprint car racer of the early fifties.

Yesterday I went to Thruxton for their Golden Anniversary meeting, where young Seb Priaulx was out on track in the new Ford GT supercar. I saw Seb’s great-grandfather Ernie Priaulx on Guernsey’s Val des Terres hillclimb in the late ‘50s/early ‘60s, then his grandfather Graham and his father Andy, so I’ve now seen four generations of the Priaulx family on track.

Good story, as usually in your site. A very small (hopefully not too pedantic  :) )correction: the other son of Fangio is named Ruben Vázquez.

Here's one who had escaped my notice: Pietro Fittipaldi, who has already won a junior NASCAR title, aged just 15. Grandson of Emerson, great-nephew of Wilson, nephew of Christian - and nephew of Max Papis!

http://www.jamesalle...new-fittipaldi/

Surprised nobody has mentioned that Pietro Fittipaldi has become the first grandson of an F1 driver to also drive in F1, having subbed for the injured Romain Grosjean in a Haas in both the Sakhir and Abu Dhabi races.

Last night Jos Verstappen *) and his son Max visited a Dutch TV show on sports. Max has started a karting career at 4 and a half (4.5 years!) while his father wanted he started at 6. Currently he is 7. He has won 49 out of 50 races (3rd in that odd one after spinning on a wet patch).
Let's hope for Dutch racing they will use all what was learned in his fathers career.

*) Sorry, maybe not so nostalgic, but Jos has said goodbye to F1 and will return to some international racing (LM) occasionally. May I call this nostalgia in the making?

Now 11+ years after this mail, I could mention the son of Jan Lammers, Rene who makes waves in karting aged 12. Likely set for a nice career. Sorry for not being nostalgic, but these we want to look ahead.

Guardian feature on Susie Wheldon and her hopes for her and Dan's sons, both of whom are now on Andretti's driver programme:

Susie Wheldon: ‘Dan would have been over the moon about our sons racing’

Hard to believe that it's nearly ten years since we lost Dan.

Two Italian drivers by the same family name of Albertin, Daniele and Giovanni, competed in both the Italian and European Formula 3 Championships in 1976, driving Modus M1 cars.

They came from the province of Padua, northern Italy, but I can't find confirmation whether they were brothers (or presumably cousins).

Any help?

Sadly, Daniele Albertin and his young wife lost their lives in a haighway accident in 1982.

Not only Eduardo Barrichello is driving races now (Rubens' son) but also Rubens' nephew Felipe Barrichello Bartz. He will compete in Brazil Formula 4 next season.
