Has anyone got pictures of Bob Anderson & Denny Hulme racing a Brabham BT8 which is basically a BT11 with a full body?
Bob's son Bruce said " Dad drove and was partnered by Denny for a race at Silverstone. They were doing well when Dad spun and I think they ended up 4th. The chassis was SC-6-64 and was owned by Sid Taylor at the time".

Bob Anderson drove the BT8 when it belonged to Team Elite and Sid Taylor took over the car when they went bust, along with their ace mechanic, Ron Bennett.
Here is the Brabham pictured when it first went into US ownership......

Post # 309, I did a search, and didn't come up with anything. who is driving the ex Taylor BT8, what year, and where ? looks a bit like Sebring. going by the mix of cars on the grid, could be a regional event.

As best I know, the car is still owned by Dr. Julio Palmazz of San Antonio, and the photos in post #309 were taken by photographer Larry King of JAX., Florida.
I have sent you a pm, WoodcoteCopse.

An update on the current situation with regard to my Sid Taylor project.
When the first Brian Redman book "More Throttle, Less Brake" was penned by Michael Keyser, the Redman family objected to some of the content and there was an attempted re-write by Tom Bryant. That also proved to be unsatisfactory, and the project (despite being completed) was canned leading eventually to the current collaboration with Jim Mullen.
I now find myself in a similar position as we speak with the Taylor family, but the difference is as I am sure many of you will know, the non-racing element of "Fifty Shades of Sid" as it has colloquially become known is an intrinsic part of the story. This accounts for the delay to date in the book's appearance.
Unlike Michael Keyser however, I have taken a decision that I did not reach easily with regard to my close relationship with Sidney, and intend finishing the project on my terms.
To that end, I am hopeful that the book will finally be seen later this year.

I feel this long running saga is due an update. "Brogue Racer" was essentially completed and ready for publication in the summer of 2016, until Sidney Taylor Jnr. Intervened.........
I hope you are sitting down....... Sidney or "Junior" as he was known objected to some of the content of the book, and decided the easiest way to amend that was to have me removed..... as in bumped off! Junior, who lived half the year in Brasil and half in Birmingham in the UK made arrangements to have this carried out with the Albanian mafia who ran his clubs in Birmingham, and then made the fatal error of texting me to inform me as such.
A swift visit to the local Police Station saw Junior picked up and brought in for questioning. I was advised to leave my home and relocate which I did for three months under the care of Victim Support. The plot was defused, and Sidney Junior was allowed to return to Brasil. I dreaded his return to Birmingham in the summer of 2017, and then one weekend in July, his clubs were busted.....

Now you couldn't make this up, coinciding with this happening, Sidney Junior's demise was reported from Brasil..........
I now also have additional material for the project from contributors whom I have met in the meantime, so hopefully the book will now eventually see the light of day.

Glad you're okay, Tony! And trust me, this is exactly why I hesitate writing my book about a corrupt American medical system that nearly killed my wife.

What happened to junior?

Sidney Taylor Junior, or "Little Sid" as named in Di Spires book "I just made the tea" was a common sight in the pit lane during the Theodore days. Sid is saying he had a heart attack, but I know that not to be the case. He was reported dead in the provincial Brasilian city where he lived, and buried the following day.

Prompted by the recent sad death of Ron Bennett, who I knew in later life, can anybody tell me if the projected book on Sid Taylor, which is mentioned frequently in this thread, ever saw the light of day?
I have looked for such a title on the Chaters Books web site, but to no avail….
