I'm posting this thread and pictures on behalf of ry6. Those photos were taken at Kitwe. Car number (1)3 is Rex Hutton in his Cooper Vincent at Garneton. The other car is a mystery. Can anyone perhaps identify it?

I believe the myster car may be Phil Liebenberg's Zephyr Special.

My good mate David McEwen, who saw some of the Kitwe races of the time, cannot identify it but remarks usefully that the tail is certainly long enough to accomodate a straight six.

Interesting and somewhat innovative machine though for 1960, rear engined, and in an area far from a good supply of racing parts.

It cannot be late 50's as Mike says. Because the BMW 2002 is more modern than that and the sportycar is quite modern too.
