I trust the TW photographic department will be there to record proceedings for our delight .
Maybe yourself and/or Howard are involved in some way ?
Also sounds like a job for Cecil B. De Critcher !
Itala, Ghosts, La France,Bentleys Lagondas,..... Amazing ! and little more than a couple of weeks away.

Wow, some great stuff there Stuart, I am a little confused exactly where is it from and to, and how long does it take?
In 2007, there is an endurance rally celebrating Prince Borghese's epic journey from Peking to Paris - this event is to help crews get used to the format, in particular using GPS to get from place to place! There are sections of the Peking to Paris that will feature choices of route through remote terrain (Mongolia in particular), hence the need for GPS familiarisation. The Beijing to Burford event will start at Heythrop (near Chipping Norton), and the crews will tackle a fairly simple run through the Cotswolds with checks along the way .
Alot of the crews will be used to the format , but as it can be seen from the entry list, some of the cars will take some coaxing to the finish in 2007
At my current employ, we've helped prepare David Williams 1938 Chevrolet Coupe - chiefly the mechanical side of things, and some more specialised 'rally' prep - while David has effectively 'built' the car. He used the Dar-es-Salaam to Cape Town Classic Safari this year as a shakedown, and would have won if an antelope hadn't leaped in front of him near the end of the event! It wreaked havoc with the rad and front axle...... Currently, the car is stripped for a thorough re-prep, so he's bringing his 1969 Mach 1 Mustang (which he won the Morocco Rally with last year!). However, I think most cars are the actual entries for the Peking jaunt
I'm lucky enough to have been invited to join Stuart Turner at the first (I think ) control, and I'll try and take a camera although I can't promise good results : . I'll be airing the Isis, although Stuart (with his customary dry wit) has suggested that I park it behind the haystack he's going to have had built in front of his house........

I misread the title as "Beijing to Buford" and thought "what the hell is that about?"

I can't be there, as I'll be at Silverstone for the World Superbikes. H is taking a camera, and he'll do a fine job I have no doubt.Originally posted by RTH

We're both entered in a few (lower-key) events during the year, so there'll be more oldie road car stuff in due course on top.

But, following a slight change of plan, I was!Originally posted by Twin Window
I can't be there...
Thankfully the weather was more accomodating than yesterday, thereby allowing the attractive setting (the end of Stuart T's driveway!) to bask in all its Cotswold glory.
And look - there's an Isis on his lawn!

The lady driver of the Singer (Sunbeam?) above was desperately trying to take Stuart T's photo - and he wouldn't let her, flagging her off instead...!
Anyway, my camera's memory card maxed-out at this point, but the final few are here courtesy of John Jago of the Oxford Motor Club...
Cheers, John - and a few more of his for good measure!
