Next month (26/27 June) will see the 100 year anniversary of one of motorsport’s biggest milestones. It was on that day that Ferenc Szisz won the ACF Grand Prix in 1906.
I have been wondering if there will be some sort of celebration to commemorate this event. Maybe the people of Le Mans have something in the pipeline or will this date just pass unnoticed?
Do you chaps, that have been to Le Mans, know if the exact starting/finish spot for the 1906 still exists or is it indicated by means of a monument or whatever? I believe the starting point was at Pont de Gennes near Montfort.
Have anyone been to this spot or has anyone tried to find it?

Will that be the June issue or July? It will be too late for me, since we only get MOTOR SPORT one month after the publication date, and I shall only see this magazine after I returned from Europe...

The ACO are celebrating the occasion on 11th June with a parade of historic cars round the 1906 circuit, which will end with them lined up at the 24 Hours circuit. A commemorative exhibition is being held at the Le Mans Circuit Museum until November.

Friends of mine are taking part in this parade of racing cars through the streets of Paris at the weekend as a last minute addition.
Does anyone have anymore information on the event, the cars taking part etc etc ,
