I am looking for biographical information on Peter Page. Page raced 500cc cars in the late 1940's and early 1950's. I am particularly interested in his date of birth and date of death. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Michael,
Peter Page is another on the list of biogs required in another place!

The only information I can supply is that he suddenly appeared in my stuff in 1948, ordering one of the first dozen Cooper Mk IIs. The chassis was a 500cc -only version. First appearance was at the Brighton Speed Trials, 4th September, where Austen May refers to him as "a new recruit". His car was a dark green, and notable because he favoured the number 13.

He appeared later in 1948 at the British Grand Prix round, finishing 9th (and last), despite being one of many who were rather unprepared for the start flag. I only have eleven race entries in my records, finishing with the British Grand Prix, May 1950. That appears to be it for his 500 career, as he does not appear in the 1951 Who's Who. KJJ's dates suggest it is the same Peter Page, so I would assume he did something more to gain his membership.

If you visit http://www.500race.o...ues/JLR 500.htm I believe that car 33 in the first picture may be Peter Page in 1949.

Thanks all for the information. Rich, I'll be sending you a photograph of Page at Silverstone soon.

The BRDC Peter Page had the initials P. W. K. (Peter Wyborn no idea about the K). He is listed as a Life Member in the BRDC Jubilee book, date of election 1950. These are the same initials as the 500cc racer?

KJJ, I do not know what his full name is. I have an autographed photograph and the signature is "Peter Page." By the dates I believe it is a pretty good bet that they are one in the same. Thanks for your help.
