Would anyone have contact details for Michael May. He drove a Lola Mk2 I have in 1960 and I would like to contact him regarding any recollections he could have. In addition, any contact details for John Whitmore would also be appreciated as he drove the car as well. It may be appropriate to respond to my private email.

I had contact with Michael some years ago and will try to find his contact details. Perhaps it is still valid. Will let you know.

Over at Wikipedia, there is some confusion regarding the spelling of Mr May's first name: Forix says "Michael", grandprix.com says "Michel" and this 8W article offers both!

Can anyone (Hieronymus maybe?) offer any definitive evidence one way or the other?

Thanks,
David.

David

I have a letter from May and also kept the envelope. On the back of the envelope his name is printed with his address. It says Michael .

Excellent. Thanks for that. I'm not exactly sure how we'll hyperlink from his Wikipedia page to your envelope ;) but we'll do our best.

David.

Hatrat - I know Hieronymous well. He is a genuine enthusiast and if he says he has an envelope with that name on it you can believe it.

(Bloggesworth or whatever can believe what he wants to believe for what it matters.)

Thanks for the hospitality in NZ.

Hi Rob - I did actually get hold of Michael May and he wrote back to me (with a sender address that corresponds with Hieronymous' photo above). He gave me his Formula Junior recollections (unfortunately not much about my Lola Mk2) plus he included a signed photo of his Lotus 18 FJ. Cheers Roger
