And these likely lads in 1965 - who is in the back row beside Willie Southcott?

The team shot shows, front row: L to R - Chief Mechanic Cyril Atkins, Graham Hill, Chief Engineer-cum-Team Director Tony Rudd, the wee Scot, back row - Willie Southcott (part obscured left), then (I think) Roy Foreman, Glen Forman, (then definitely) Alan Challis and transporter driver and spares man Len Reedman. I think I might have misidentified Jackie's mechanic Jimmy Collins as Glen, though.

I THINK the girl in the floral trews - third from left - is probably Harry Schell's lady, Monique
My guess would be Birgitta "Pyran" Norinder, Ulf's sister.
And BTW, there is no sign of Marianne Bonnier in any of these pictures. She hadn't come into the picture yet, as we say in Sweden

The hot honey on the far right is definetly Jackie Ginther. Her daughter in law Cathy Ginther says she has the watch in the picture she is wearing. It was a present to her from Richie when they were in Italy. Ted Walker wins again! Cathy Ginther further says this is a wonderful picture that captures so much of Jackie. Thank you Allen Brown and Ted Walker for posting it. Jackie passed away in 2002 and was living with Cathy and Bret Ginther at the time.
Strangely the watch is on her left wrist in the picture with Von Trips. The image isn't reversed, as the lettering is on her left sleeve in both photos.

i love threads like this. old pics like the one that caused this thread intrigue me.
unfortunately i have no knowledge to add here but i can add this image of a pit poopsie from another era. amusingly enough she can sometimes be seen dressed quite similarly to the ones from monaco.

please be advised that rude comments will be forwarded to the no-longer-as young-as-pictured munchkin of mine. she may be covered with tats and lots of piercings but one of the tools she employs in her job is a glock. she's a cop.
you've been warned.

I suppose by a stretch of chronology she might be a pit "poopsie" but she is definitely a poppet!
The dangers of English as she is spoke Marc.

although she hasn't done so since she became a mom, my munchkin has done some car show modeling.
eek!
she and hubby do have two classic cars and enter car shows with them. there is a '66 cherry red all-original chevelle hubby got from his grandfather. 50k original miles and they have won some local shows with it.
the second one is a '52 chevy pickup with a 350 crate motor and modern running gear. the bodywork has not been restored.
so now she's a car show mama, literally.

if you saw how she dresses sometimes....especially when she works undercover---she is a cop ...you would think she's a poopsie.
i'd love to see the faces of the bad guys she's busted.

It is Monaco and it's 1957, I believe. That's Harry Schell with Fangio. Identifying the ladies is a bit more difficult. The outfit worn by the one on the left is very unusual too!

The lady on the right with head scarf looks like 'Mme Schell'.

Monique (I think her surname was Pieri de Maretz).

I am copying that gaucho/matador outfit for Goodwood this year.
Its owner has some vague facial similarities to the Rodriguez brothers, but they were still only children at this point. Actually, she could be related to Fangio - did he have a sister?

I am told that the lady in black is 'Fangio's girl friend Beba' ...' and that she was 'somebody else's wife'.
Regarding Harry Schell, things are more difficult. One source says he was married three times. Another says he married his French girlfriend Monique in 1956 and that she couldn't speak English. Another has told me his wife was American. Another source, a newspaper page sold on eBay, is reported as follows:
"An original newspaper page with article on the the death of Harry Schell, illustrated with two photos showing Schell and his girlfriend Monique Pieri de Maretz."
On the face of it, literally, I think the ladies in the two pictures published in this thread could be the same as the lady below with Harry at Bern in 1950. She has captivated me since I first saw her, having a striking similarity to Marilyn Monroe at her loveliest. If so then Harry Schell must have had the same girl-friend/wife for at least nine years which isn't quite the picture of him that is usually painted.
I can't post the full picture but can anyone tell me whom Harry Schell is talking to, and who is the mechanic in the beret?

I'm pretty sure that Juan Manuel and Beba had separated quite some time before then, though I'd agree that she does look remarkably similar, maybe ladies like that were just his type. JMF was a bit of a lad by all accounts, and was never short of womanly company. "Put it about a bit" is what we might say today.

The photo isn't great, but the mechanic in the beret looks like Alf Francis.
I agree, and it would make sense as he's directly in front of the John Heath pit.

I wonder if that's either Prince Bira or George Abercassis in the white linen helmet inside the John Heath pit.

Not to my knowledge. Beba was still with him then and while he raced. ISTR JMF remarking that she became quarrelsome after he retired so they split. I wonder why he had the visor fitted. It wasn't wet in '57 and he didn't race with it.

I just wasn't sure if it was Francis and here is an enlargement that might help and also give a clue to the man in the linen helmet; Interesting that even with no facial features it looks like Abecassis:
But who is Schell is talking to? Shall I take it that it's nobody from HWM?

The presence of the visor is a bit peculiar. I'm pretty certain it's race day too, as Schell had a different top on during practice. I pondered over whether the visor was tinted to protect from glare, but I don't think that's the case. Either way, as you say he didn't wear it for the race.
