I have recently come across a very interesting archive of photographs, run by Bill Snelling, relating to motor racing in the Isle of Man, around various circuits at Douglas, covering 1934 to 1953.
Although the archive is primarily a motorcycle racing photo archive, they also have several thousand photos related to car racing.
Of particular interest are the many static shots of cars and drivers taken in the pits including Altas, ERAs, Maseratis, MGs and Rileys plus sports cars from the early 1950s
The photos are are viewable on-line at http://www.mcb.net/a...ee/fotocar.html
Enjoy!

While looking up some Chevron Cars stuff, i found this bit of information ,do any TNFers know the story with any more details sounds like an interesting event.
1975.
B32 Special. One-off hillclimb special (owing much to F5000 practice) for John Cussins with 5.7 Chevy. Ran in match race against a motorbike on part of the Isle of Man TT course.
Thanks in advance El Doug.

The Chevron was driven by Brian Redman, with Phil Read riding the bike. More details in these earlier threads:
What is it? (post 10 onwards)
Brian Redman and the Isle of Man
including a brief contribution from Brian himself in the second thread.

Thanks Tim.
Waring & Gillow they used to sponsor a hill climb car a Pilbeam for (unknown Drive ) back in the 70,s i have a great photo of it .
Thanks for explaining this story re the F5000 V Bike, did they have it on film now that would be worth while watching.
I thought the driver was John Cussins because of the way it reads,However Brian Redman would have certainly given it a go against Phill Read.
