I've just realized that for the best part of a decade I've been thinking of Jerome d'Ambrosio and Giedo van der Garde as if they were the same person.

What are the crucial differences between them?

Their names are spelt differently.

I just can't see how you maintained that one.

I used to mix up Eddie Irvine and Ernie Irvan but...come on.

Both do some occasional F1 driving well away from the front of the grid. Both do pretty well in series that I don't pay much attention to beyond reading the race reports. Both from... Benelux? It's like Bertrand Gachot divided his soul into pieces and reincarnated into well-funded drivers with decent careers who fell short of F1 point scoring.

But Irvine and Irvan? I bet they've never been in the same room together.

Is that Lewis Hamilton in the trailer for Zooolander 2? Sitting in the front row of the fashion show @ 20 seconds in.

I have a very stupid question:)

Why can't F1 go through a 2-3 year use of manual gear changing. After all F1 is all about development .

Then go bk to paddle changes.

I believe the only objection is wilfull stubborness to change.

Lewis Hamilton has openly wished for this but will the Dreamkillers prevail again.

Manual gear change isn't road relevant enough for them.

Bring back manual boxes sure, but why only keep them for a few years?
