Finnish TV opened up some of their archives on the Net today

Video clips from Finnish GP (Eläintarha). Much MC but also car racing. Some longer some shorter and with different quality.

1939, 1948, 1950, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1958, 1959, 1961, 1962 and 1963 races

Includes at the end a slow "sightseeing" lap at Keimola with Jimmy Clark giving comments.

I didn't have any trouble with the feed (Using 8Mb line). I don't know how it works from abroad or with slower connections.

I've only clicked the second link so far, but I'll wager that's the longest extant piece of footage of Jimmy actually talking!

Although I don´t understand the Finnish language...I heard the commentator name "Curt Lincoln" (whitch I believe was the father of "Nina"...Jochen Rindts wife)...and also "Bonnier".

And...(Waldemar Stener?) in the 1953 race...in that old Ferrari.

It self-played in a browser window in Safari - but took some moments to begin without giving any indication that it was loading or streaming. Note that some are sound-only.
