Does anyone have any information and preferably photographs of the Envoy Formula Junior from 1959. I know very little about the car other than it was run by Ian Raby, was rear engined and had drum brakes...Thanks in advance

I will email you some potential contacts.

Are you restoring one?

Sure great to see photos of 0704TR, 0794TR, etc. at Goodwood. Did Phil Hill get to see/ride in/drive 0704TR? Any chance we will ever see it again on this side of the Atlantic?

Thank you for your help! Just what I needed...Not restoring one, just needed some further information and background as to what one was! I had never really even heard of it before yesterday!

Phil Hill didnt ride in 0704 at Goodwood, his son-in-law went round on Sunday. I am sure he saw it though! Not sure with regards to a return to US for the car...depends if there is something there for it to go to..

As general FJ info, Bernard Cowdray's book Formula Junior Racing Cars... Remembered, has a good index/appendix at the back listing articles, a wide range too, about FJ individual and about FJ topics in general, which is a very useful guide tool.

Joe,

I have just purchased a Formula Junior Envoy and was searching the web to see what information I could find out about the car and I came across your posting. Do you want me to e-mail you some pictures of the car.

Any information about Formula Junior Envoys and Britannias (I have one of those as well) will be very welcome, anything between 1960 - 2006.

I can merge this thread with the newly-created Two-stroke Formula Junior thread if deemed appropriate.

Please let me know!

the Unique Motor books "Formula Junior" has a number of articles on Envoy.

reproductions of period articles, so image quality is a bit 'iffy' in places

I think Motor Books / Chaters etc will have it.

Not sure if they'd be all that happy if I scan the pages and post them here!

Vince,

I know very little of the cars history except that it has been in Germany, from where I purchased it, for at least the last 10 years. I believe that it is chassis number 3.
