Next year Teretonga Park at the bottom of the South Island of New Zealand is 50 years old.
The circuit held its first meeting on election day 30/11/57
Three months later in Feb 1958 the entry list for the main race read - Archie Scott-Brown, Jack Brabham, Bruce McLaren, Arnold Glass, Frank Shuter, Ross Jensen, Ron Roycroft, Pat Hoare, etc etc
About four km from the circuit is the city of Invercargil - the home of Burt Munro...........
Ray has a great poem and Vince please, your thoughts....

While there in February, I bought the 1982 book "Teretonga 25", which celebrated 25 years of racing, and had it signed by authors Bunce, Douglas, and McDonald...
Also wonderful to see the two Munro bikes in the hardware store, watch the movie in Invercargill, and visit the beach!
Awesome to see the wall display of photos of forty "World Championship F.1. GP. drivers who have raced in S.S.C.C. races"...and got a photo of Eoin Young and Wally Wilmott with the M23...also met Noel Atley, Michael Clark, and talked to Dick and Judy Buckingham...and got a ride in the pace car...and the weather was good...what could be better?
Is any celebration planned for next year...or perhaps another book?....
