The race was won by Jack Brabham with Bib Stillwell second and i recall the mighty Patto , no relation, made his only Calder appearance in the event..
I also think several tintop drivers were involved...Bob Jane.........?
Anybody have any details?

Brabham first in a Bowin, Leo Geoghegan second in an Elfin, Allan Hamilton third in a Bowin, Allan Moffat fourth in a Wren (I think), then Bib Stillwell fifth in his Elfin. Fastest lap to Geoghegan in 48.6, Brabham 48.9, Hamilton 49.2.

What I'm trying to remember is where I've seen a largish pic of Moffat in the lead. It's the same pic in smaller size in RCN, but somewhere I regularly see the pic in about half page size.

In Moffat's scrap book a book that came out in about '77.Ray the racewas always going to be won by Jack.photowas I think them coming out of turn one, having said that what a small track it was by today standard's,how would the Bat Taxi V8 car lot go.Remember Minogue telling me how he was out there early 60s and Stan Jone's is out there down out drinking beer out of a large bottle, couple lad's stir him up and he drops em both.Originally posted by Ray Bell
You're a trier, Robert... but it was Stillwell who ran the Elfins, Brabham had a Bowin for Beasley...

One report suggested that the race was "scripted" before practice but that "natural competitive instincts got the better of everybody by the time the flag fell."
Bill Patterson and Doug Whiteford handled the starting and finishing flags.

Yes, he's had a swag of cars along the way and driven most of them very hard!
Thanks for that extra info, Milan... where did that come from?
