FA's and KR's team changes next season are quite interesting and we all know how they've been doing in their present ones so I thought I should ask how you think they'll do in their new ones. What will happen first?

(Edited to clarify.)

Your poll doesn't work, it needs to be changed to something like:

Both do well.
Both do badly.
KR does well, FA does badly.
FA does well, KR does badly.

That covers all your things, while we can only vote once.

Did you read the question? I added it to the post in addition to the poll - that is, what will happen first?

In that case I voted for KR wins first. This is not a reflection on KR being a better driver, but that I expect the Ferrari to be better than Mac.

Alonso used to tell the media that McLaren will dominate in 2007 (and beyond I guess). I wonder if he still thinks that.

Exactly. I would have voted both options of these two:

KR wins, AND Alonso's McLaren breaks down.

You never know, they might. Just that current evidence doesnt support it.

Me too.

But yaff, you're right I missed that. I guess Hans and I should vote FA retires, but that doesn't seem right.

Alonso will break down AND Kimi will win.

If you want to be pedantic, Alonso's will happen first because that would be during the race whereas Kimi won't win until the end of the race!

Well, I was hoping to make a poll that we can look at afterwards and unambiguously note how many of us got their predictions right - I consider all pretty certain to happen next season (except perhaps KR retiring due to a mechanical failure) but when what happens remains to be seen.

Of course they might dominate, but it doesn't seem likely. That's exactly why I'd like someone to ask him about it now.

To be fair, Alonso could dominate. As has been proven time and again, Raikkonen is a car breaker. Alonso isn't. When it is running, the McLaren is pretty fast. :smoking:

I'm going to bookmark this and see if there's need to bring it up after first race.

I think it is a stupid question.

A lot will depend on the performance level of the 2007 cars. Both of them will blend in the team just fine and fast. Both are on equal level of performance, no big divisions between them, both can win with good material, both are WDC material... so I think the real question is: how good the 2007 Mclaren/Ferrari will be.

And that is something we don't now just yet.

Juan Pablo will end up with more wins than Fernando. Kimi wins WDC ( driver & drinker) world championships ;)

Tyres will be harder, maybe not as in 2005, but i think it will be important for Ferrari. My guess is McLaren and Ferrari will be level in mid season and if Raikkonen cant build a good gap it will be big show after mid 2007. I hope Ferrari persuade Brawn not to take a sabbatical as Raikkonen needs him.

Both will do fine. The real question is how their teams will do?

You missed out the "Alonso gets bitch slapped by Ron for whining and complaining" option and the "Kimi pole dances naked for Todts pleasure, while drunk" options.

But in reality the Ferrari is likely to be good out of the box and Kimi will win. Alonso may fight back ultimately but he'll have a breakdown-tastic first few races.

It´s McLaren philosophy of designing cars: go for new, state-of-the-art solutions and finish the car at the last possible moment. Compare to Renault - both 2005 and 2006 the car was spot on in the first race: fast, reliable, easy to drive and set up, etc. Especially with current points system, that´s the way go.

Isn´t it telling McLaren´s best WDC year from "Kimi era" was 2003, with last year´s car?

They'll both do great of course. However with B-stone becoming the sole supplier next year, Räikkönen's transition should be smoother.

Oh, sorry I didn't notice the word "FIRST" in the question. My bad!

Expect if Alonso's McLaren breaks down the very same moment Kimi crossess the finish line. But there's no way McLaren will make it that long! So I would like to change my answer from Kimi winning to Fernando's Mac DNF'ing.
