Daytona 24 Hour Parade of past winners

I can't see this happening in the UK :p

Makes the current cars that race there even uglier than I thought

Onboard Formula Estonia at Kielce in Poland.

Nice little circuit composed of a mix of public road ( very fast up and down sweepers ) and purpose built track ( more technical ).

OK - not YouTube but a video nonetheless. 2.40 mins of a trip around the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart a week or so ago.

If you don't like the 1970's ProgRock band Focus then turn your sound down

It will go to full screen but you may need a reasonably fast connection to view the first time.

Indeed. A proper, high-speed road circuit which hasn't been ruined with artficial chicanery.

I saw them at my local venue in October 2010. Great gig - and just a ten minute walk back to the 70s!
As well as organ, flute and yodelling, Thijs' duties include driving the minibus.

I can honestly say I don't understand one word of Finnish; no wonder Kimi doesn't talk much...and Keke married a German...

BUT they sure can drive race cars!

Since Focus have recently been mentioned, here is Dutch all-girl trio "Babe" with their 1979 song "Never Listen to a Bouzouki Player":

Was the clip filmed at Zandvoort? Would anyone be able to identify cars and drivers?

Definitely Zandvoort. The final part of the video looks to be at the Hugenholtz hairpin whilst just before that the cars look to be on the section from East Tunnel to Panorama. Think I saw an F2 Chevron in there - Helmet looked like Huub Rothengatter

Graham, Chris, come on! Who cares about the cars? What a catchy tune, and stunning performances from all concerned. Man, can those drivers dance? (No). And great acoustics for open sportscars..... Surely time for a re-release.

The late 70's F2 Chevron is all I could recognise too. By the way, are you planning to update Bill Boddy's 'Cars in Books' slot.....'Cars in Dodgy Pop Videos'? Perhaps Damien of MS might see an opportunity here.

Ah, the Cambridge Folk Festival. Happy memories...1976 I think...Tom Paxton... in a cap, looked like one of Jackie Stewart's cast offs.

Also I have been desperate to find footage onboard of a full lap of the old Spa. Not sure it exists in the form we would like but I have found this; modern footage of the old Spa circuit

Spa Francorchamps old track circuit

http://www.youtube.c...;feature=fvwrel

Can anyone tell me how accurate this actually is?

This has appeared previously on this thread a couple of times. Pretty much a full lap of Spa with Lucien Bianchi in 1962, though it misses the fast left right kinks between Haut de la Cote ( Les Combes ) and Burnenville as well as the 2nd left hand kink after Stavelot

This is embarrassing  I hated that kind of music back then (and still, by the way).

If you mute the sound, you'll see Rothengatter's Chevron indeed, and, as far as I can see:
FF2000: #11, Jim Vermeulen (Lola T580) and #30 Jacques Cleutjens (Crossle 33F)
Sports 2000, all Lola T492: #15 Huub Vermeulen (he might be the one in the yellow overalls); #1 Hans Ernst; #25 Rob Slotemaker; #3 Hans Kok; #14 Ton Nagtegeller; #20 Konrad Bartelsky

Some well-known names here, most of them part of the big Vermeulen team; they ran a lot of cars for other drivers. In stark contrast to the music, the FF and Sports 2000 field was nothing to be ashamed of!

Almost painful watching Graham hobbling up pit road there. Question, was Surtees' helmet just white with a few strips of blue tape, or were they painted on proper like?
