I don't know- I've Never had a problem with the secondary sellers on Amazon, and I've bought hundreds of used books from them. It might be different in the UK.
Nope, second hand books work fine for me with Amazon UK. Never had a problem.

Thanks - saw that in the GP - outtakes thread. That's the right place but not the exact moment in time... (always interested in looking at Hardy pics ;)) B2 - I asked Bill at IMRRC while back, I'll ask again. They're always acquiring new material. Thanks again, please keep your collective eyes open, it's appreciated!

This car belonged to John Pearce (hence the JAP Magna stickers plastered all over it). The photo was taken at Santa Pod in 1971. Although I don't know the chassis number, I was contacted by John Cummins of Kearney Racing in Baltimore in 2014. He wrote: "Hi, I was reading the history section [of the website] and I remember the GT40 at Santa Pod in 1971. It did have number plates on it, but I don't remember them. I was there helping Ed Shaver with his Hot Wheels AMX. I always towed it for him with my Land Rover."
According to a member of the UKDRN, his favorite race was watching Pearce's GT40 v. Gary Goggin's Corvette. Pearce won despite the door flying open along the quarter mile.
If anyone can identify the chassis number, I would love to know. I don't believe it is either P1108 or P1109 (the two spare cars that JAP bought in kit form from JWA) because I believe he'd already sold them by 1971.

Has Ronnie's two-volume update been published yet, or does anyone know when it might appear? I can't find any info on the web.

This GT40 is Alan Mann GT40/2. Originally, one of two 1966 cars fitted with alloy front clip, rear clip & greenhouse from the factory. Changed to fiberglass panels by Paul Hawkins (group 4 regs). Rear fenders were a unique shape and width. As of a few years ago, the car was "redone" to its 1966 point in time. Although I've heard the clips & doors fitted are fiberglass, not alloy (this may have changed since...).

Thank you for clearing that up. I've been trying to figure it out for ages. Gordon Spice drove it with José Juncadella in several races in 1969. It appears to have gained the wing mirror during that time. I guess Pearce bought it from Juncadella. How did you know that it was AM GT40/2?

Does anybody have a picture of Klaus Fritzingers GT40 at the DARM 19.6.1966./Mainz-Finthen/Germany race (GT +2.0 class) and information, which chassis it was?
It was a DNF. Can't find any picture in the related websites.

PonysiteEd, sorry that Klaus passed in early January. you got me on a search for Fritzinger's two drives in the GT 40. there is not much on the web. his races in the GT are mentioned on the Racing Sports Car site. I went through my GT 40 books, and others, but can't find any mention. there is/was a Klaus Fritzinger hall of fame, which I found some info on a site from Germany. I have made some inquiries with a couple of German motorsport clubs, one of which is the "Motor-Sport-Club Mainz-Finthen" where he ran that car. will wait to see if I have any replies. you may want to try the Ford GT 40 guru Ronnie Spain. good luck in your search.

Yes, thanks for yr search, actually I am writing a piece on Fritzinger for our club mag with memories from his mates and searched almost anything first online. I do have pics of Mainz-Finthen 66 from Malte Huth, but none shows the GT40 (which was a DNF). We may get one from his family most probably, I was just running out of time for the print deadline. I was hoping for someboy sneaking into his Ronny Spain book for the chassis number at least :-).

No mention of Herr Fritzinger in my 1992 edition of Ronnie's book. Nor any mention of the race described in your Post
Bill P
Thank you. Indeed it seems to be an error in some records including this entry
http://www.racingspo...ritzinger#.html
Malte Huth, who was there with his real GT350 recalls that there was definitely no GT40 with Klaus Fritzinger. Confirmed also by Ronny Spain via group7 above. Thank you, too.
