The right-hand one looks like a Caltex logo - bigger versions were on the cars at Kyalami, IIRC.

Matra elf with a Caltex logo?

IIRC only the Tyrrell Matra had Caltex logos

I'm pretty sure Stewart's Matra (the light greenish car) had Caltex stickers on it during the 1968 south African GP.

Wasn´t it be some personal sponsor of J.P.Beltoise, because only his car had it?

Even the good Schlegelmilch BW photo on this site doesn't show the logos clearly.
Could the logo which looks like a K be for Kugelfischer injection ?

Could be , remember that Matra elf and Team Tyrrell were separate teams with different sponsors.

Also I don't think the cars were known as Matra Simca then, otherwise it could have been the Chrysler "pentastar" logo

I don't know the answer, but here are some extra views of the details for Honza. Maybe it will help someone with an ID?

Both from the 1968 Beltoise Matra at Monaco.

Twinny - I don't think Matra ever ran at Kyalami in that configuration?

At Kyalami Beltoise ran in an MS7 Cosworth FVA 4 cyl Tyrrell International entry with large Caltex logo on sides of the nose

By this I meant in the early V12 configuration.

looks like a Caltex logo

Here's the Matra from another angle at the same race & that looks pretty much like an ELF logo to me. It was also on the Tyrrell Matra driven by JS-G. I guess the Caltex deal was a one-off in South AfricaPosted Image

OK, through the weekend came to me answer to my question.
Logo under teh name of driver is ....... FERODO and in circle is jumping cariboo or elk.

Second one is something as chequered flag with circle (where is something I don´t know) and the sign "Duceilier"..... but in the sign maybe a mistake,it isn´t so clear to read better. Maybe it was producer of some electric parts for cars as a alternators etc...

Have a nice day
Bye

This was already under discussion on TNF - the Matra and Elf/Caltex sponsorship. I can't recall the name of the thread. I mentioned that Beltoise's Matra also had both Caltex and ELF logos on his Matra at the '68 Cape South Easter race at Killarney.

Many thanks to everybody,

About second logo:

The sign is "Ducellier" ....... I think French firm about headlite motor assembly.
Ducellier has an old name logo and because of that when their pieces are inspected the name that appears is Ducettier.

Knows anybody how looks like the logo picture?

Bye

Elf was launched in 1967. This last one took the place of Caltex, Avia, La Mure ...

This means why, we can find both logos of Elf and Caltex on Matra Formula 1.

Concerning Caltex, this mark was included since 1960 in the French Group "Union générale de distribution" who later in 1967 created Elf.

I think that's a beginning of explanation.

Hello,

at the moment is a Matra MS11 (scale 1/20th) on my workbench,
I want to build the Monza 1968 version and so I have a question.

How many oil tanks are on the Monza car?
The instructions told me 2, one in the front behind the water cooler and one in top of the gear box,
is this correct ? If anybody has a photo from the Monza car without nose it would be very helpful (by copyright, please PM)

ms11_oil.jpg

Thanks a lot for your help.

There was only one, just like all the F1 cars of the period. It's something you can easily see studying the pictures I sent you yesterday.

Hope you can find your answer here with someone who knows more.
Good luck for your work.
