What can you tell me about the history of the Rometsch Beeskow?

Did it really influence the design of the Mercedes 300SL?

Hard to say whether or not the Beeskow influenced the 300SL - there are some similarities in the styling, but these were also typical styling features seen on many European cars from the early 1950s. The Rometsch came first, though - introduced in 1950, I believe, and produced until 1956.

Have a look at the website of the Classic Gear Antique VW Society for more information.

Did any car before the Rometsch have the "brow" over the front wheelwell which also later appeared on the 300SL?

A brow over the wheel arches goes back to the 1940s. Check out the Ferrari 166 with coachwork by Allemano.

Or the Cisitalia spider "Razza" of 1947.
