I am planning on building a model of the #1 Lotus 23 that Dan Gurney drove at Nassau in 1962, but the few photos I have located are in black and white. It was chassis 41, and factory records indicate that it was cobalt blue, but I don't think this is correct because the photos definitely show a lighter color and Dan's recollection is that it was a light blue, in the color impregnated in the fiberglass from the factory. He also said that there was such a rush to get the car to Nassau that it was not painted. I have also spoken and corresponded with several others who recall that it was a light shade of blue.

So, does anyone know what the factory colors were for the 23? And would they have been the same for the 19? And are there any color images from Nassau that may solve this question? Thanks.
